I was talking with my friends friend at her house on our friday lunch date we were talking about our children growing up aour kids are all of a similar age

My mates mate say she cant let go and stil
BATHS her children together (confused) she has a boy and a girl the girl is 11 and the boy is 9 WTF

I nearly spat out my tea

I really think this should end around 5 mark and maybe you could get away with a little later of there same sex

I'm amazed they both fit. They must be very short.

gordyslovesheep · 01/10/2012 18:48

yes - after the age of 5 it turns them into goats ...or something - probably 'makes them gay' ...and common

YAB a bit U I think 5 would be a very early cut off. If the kids don't mind then fine, if they do mind and she's forcing them then not at all fine.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 01/10/2012 18:48

I'm sure they're more than capable of saying if they don't want to do it anymore. From the little I know of that age group they're not backwards when it comes to what they want!

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 01/10/2012 18:49

no ones business but her's
she must have a big bath! the ONLY reason we stopped was because of a space issue and that was when DS1 was just 8 and DS2 was 5
even now though one out one in, same water seconds apart.

TrinityRhino · 01/10/2012 18:49

hmm my 12 year old has only just starting not wanting to be seen in a state of undress
maybe they dont mind

does it really matter if they are brother and sisters

my 5,7 and 12 year olds girls share the bath together

50ShadesOfGreggs · 01/10/2012 18:49

Mine still occasionally bath together but normal ask for seperate baths now. They are nearly 8 and nearly 6. But dd is a very young 8. I wouldn't expect them to share past the start of any development, or I'd they weren't happy.

11 is a bit Hmm imho

vodkaanddietirnbru · 01/10/2012 18:50

mine dont both fit in the bath together at age 6 and 8 and I got fed up of the moaning and fighting over the space (lots of kicking each other, etc) so they use the shower (on their own) instead

MammaTJisWearingGold · 01/10/2012 18:51

My DD age 7 and my DS age 6 still bath together, but only because they still need parental supervision. When they are old enough to be left alone (how old is that anyway?) they can have baths alone.

I should think by 9 and 11 DC would be able to, but may not choose to. I know my sis and I bathed together until I was 11 and she was 10.

BabylonPI · 01/10/2012 18:51

Christ on a bike, I get in the bath now with my DDs age 8 and 3 and 5 month old DS, and will do for as long as we all fit!

Why stop at 5? What happens aged 5?Hmm

SchrodingersMew · 01/10/2012 18:51

I think 7 or 8 would be a more realistic cut off, 5 is a bit early.

Really surprised the 11 year old is happy with this!

Fishwife1949 · 01/10/2012 18:51

Well personally i think its strage secondary school age children having baths with siblings

Maybe its just me

puds11 · 01/10/2012 18:52

Who cares. Saves water, makes sense to me.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 01/10/2012 18:53

When I was about 9 I started developing and just asked my mum if I could bath alone, which I did. I'm sur if the kids didn't want to, they'd say. ( do think 11 is on the old side though...)

McHappyPants2012 · 01/10/2012 18:53

Why stop at 5? What happens aged 5

perhaps they turn into a unicorn or something.

aslong as they are comfortable then i don't see an issue

thebody · 01/10/2012 18:54

My kids were perfectly capable of bathing themselves at 9 and 11.

Bathing different sex siblings together that age is yeuk to me but its not my business or yours tbh.

CandiStaton · 01/10/2012 18:55

i dunno...but 5 is definitely a young age to stop bathing with siblings isnt it?

dd1 is 8, and i cant imagine her not wanting to get in with dd2; we all get in together quite often

squeakytoy · 01/10/2012 18:56

by 11 I had pubic hair, breasts and my periods.. I certainly wouldnt have wanted to share a bath or be naked in front of anyone really.. and was more than capable of bathing on my own. (I was more than capable at 9yo too).

monkeysbignuts · 01/10/2012 18:56

my kids are 3 & 5 they share a bath. I probably won't stop in the near future but 12 is a bit old

exoticfruits · 01/10/2012 18:56

Why is she bathing them at their age?

missymoomoomee · 01/10/2012 18:56

If the kids are happy with it I don't see why you have your judgy knickers in a twist.

Do they melt if they bathe together after the age of 5 or something?

I personally think its strange that someone would care about this, maybe thats just me.

Growlithe · 01/10/2012 18:57

Babylon -all 4 of you at once? How big is your bath? Confused
