To wonder if it's ever ok to wear hot pants on the school run?

That's it really, SIL wore denim ones today. Our children go to the same school and I was quite surprised at her choice of attire for my nieces first day. I can't imagine my mother ever turning up in a pair of teeny tiny shorts at school. It was a bit weird.

EEW! Kylie has a lot to answer for!

If I had the legs of a model and the arse of beyonce then yes I would wear them.

But instead I have the legs of a child and the arse of rabbit so I think it is UR.

iklboo · 13/09/2012 00:38

Not if you're me. I'd look like a Womble in an Asda fruit bag.

bobbledunk · 13/09/2012 00:39

Yes if you look like Candice Swanepoel, no if you don't.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/09/2012 00:41

Definitely not if you have big red cheeks!!! Grin

BigRedCheeks · 13/09/2012 00:44

Not just me then! My SIL is not small but if she wanted to wear them outside of school so be it. I can't quite get over it to be honest.

SPsFanjoSponsoredByOrange · 13/09/2012 00:53

I'm not doing the school run yet. Still another year or so but I think I may get a catsuit for the occasion!

BigRedCheeks · 13/09/2012 00:57

Louboutins, catsuit, all better than bum exposing hot pants!!! Am wearing a balaclava in morning so nobody knows we are related Grin

IF I was smokin yeah why not? Grin but I'm not so no Sad

piprabbit · 13/09/2012 00:58

Round here the mums wear hotpants to show off their full leg tattoos. If you're going to the time and expense of having all that work done, you want people to see it.

SPsFanjoSponsoredByOrange · 13/09/2012 01:03

I might get hotpants tattooed on! Saves money buying them and people get to my work of art Grin

piprabbit · 13/09/2012 01:08

Sounds delightful - and you need never worry about wearing floral knickers under your see-through leggings when the weather gets chillier.

omfgkillmenow · 13/09/2012 01:12

I dont get out the car on the morning school run lest folk see me in my paisley onesie Grin

wicketter · 13/09/2012 01:14

Why does everyone care about what everyone wears on the school run? My only aims are that my kids turn up on time and that I look at least half awake :-)

BigRedCheeks · 13/09/2012 01:17

Maybe she just forgot to put her trousers on, it being the first day and all? Maybe they were actual knickers??

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 13/09/2012 01:19

I would if it were really hot.. Otherwise no, I don't see the need to.

BigRedCheeks · 13/09/2012 01:20

I dont generally wick- but hot pants???

omfgkillmenow · 13/09/2012 01:22

is it a male teacher? dress to impress....

lisaro · 13/09/2012 01:23

Urgh. It wasn't even the weather for them. Just.............no!

wicketter · 13/09/2012 01:27

Tbf if I had,the legs, no cellulite and about 10 years younger I probably would. But ATM I am just impressed they get to school. Am also a little bit jealous there are mums with the confidence to wear hot pants. As soon as I had kids I covered up (stupid I know)

ilovesooty · 13/09/2012 01:28

Why does it really matter what she wears? Still, I suppose you can distance yourself if it really bothers you that much.
