Whatever you may think of her, this is hardly in good taste is it? It just makes the unions look bad to have this sort of thing on sale at their conference. Can you imagine the CBI having T-shirts looking forward to the deaths of Tony Benn, or Shirley Williams, on sale at their conference?

onceortwice, you are an idiot! i never wished anyone dead in any post! if you are not angry with her it is because you are without compassion.

Kayano · 12/09/2012 19:34

Fuck the mackems

Wink oh wait... Thatcher already did Wink

Sunderland are always the first in an election to have their voting tallied up such is their eagerness to win say fuck you Tories Grin

Geordie & Mackem jazz hands unite
Interlinking jazz hands

onceortwice · 12/09/2012 19:39

Oh, FFS, Creighton If someone doesn't agree with you, are they automatically stupid??????? It seems like it's a word you love using.

Are you amazingly clever yourself?????

creighton · 12/09/2012 19:43

onceortwice, do you not read posts? i did not wish anyone dead, what is wrong with you? if she damaged your community, why are you not angry with her?
well, i believe i am amazingly clever compared to you!

Rowanhart · 12/09/2012 19:45

There's a flash mob party organises at Stadium of Light for when she des.

It is clearly one of those occasions when Geordies and Mackems will put aside their differences and have a joint party!

furrygoldone · 12/09/2012 19:46

Fucking disgusting, talk of dancing on someone's grave is appalling, and I say that as a northerner whose grandfather was a miner and whose uncle was laid ff from more than one shipyard.

Thatcher wasn't great but I notice that the labour party did absolutely fuck all to put right any of her crimes, and we're now in a much worse state than we were when the Tories left power in the mid-90s.

furrygoldone · 12/09/2012 19:48

I agree with whoever said socialism died with John Smith, I just can't believe there are so many people who are stupid enough to think that voting labour is actually any different to voting Tory.

Kayano · 12/09/2012 19:51

Furry are you on crack? Labour helped with NE unemployment massively. And NHS waiting lists (considering how unhealthy we seem to be with our lame-o hearts!)

And it's all going back to shit again

FreudiansGoldSlipper · 12/09/2012 19:59

the tshirts are for sale becasue this is the way she made many many people feel whole comuunities wereruined because of her policies and still after 20 years of her being kicked out stepping down the feelings have not gone away. says everything

flatpackhamster · 12/09/2012 20:04

Kayano
Furry are you on crack? Labour helped with NE unemployment massively.

Yes, by creating loads of public sector jobs, which will now be lost because there aren't enough taxes to pay for them.

And NHS waiting lists (considering how unhealthy we seem to be with our lame-o hearts!)

Yes, by creating a list before you went on a list, and by prioritising waiting times over care so that the figures looked good.

And it's all going back to shit again

That's certainly a point of view.

gordyslovesheep · 12/09/2012 20:05

Labour did a lot more good for ordinary people than Thatcher - Tax Credits, Free nursery places, minimum wage, future jobs, EMA ...

LineRunner · 12/09/2012 20:09

When my husband walked out on me and our two little children, I would not have survived without the tax credit system put in place by Gordon Brown then Labour Chancellor.

My DD is just starting College to do A levels, and my DS will follow next year. I still have my home, my health and my sanity. My DCs still have their home, a working mother, and have had quality child care whilst growing up.

Labour did a lot more good for ordinary people than Thatcher

Tax Credits - paid for by unfunded borrowing

Free nursery places - paid for by unfunded borrowing

minimum wage - which created a permanent unemployable unskilled underclass.

future jobs - paid for by unfunded borrowing

EMA - paid for by unfunded borrowing

That record doesn't look quite so good in the cold light of day. The country has around £3,000 Billion of debts to be paid off (public sector pension deficit, PFI, state pension deficit, national debt) - and Labour created a third of that buying your vote and the votes of lots of other people who wanted FREE STUFF NOW and who weren't prepared to pay for it.

gordyslovesheep · 12/09/2012 20:10

same for me LineRunner - I would have lost our home without them

you will never convince me that that woman's paws aren't all over the whole Hillsborough lies / cover up

TwoIfBySea · 12/09/2012 20:13

Back in the day our dog had one of those Spitting Image squeaky toys of Thatcher. Most folk I know had one for their dog!

But this is just plain nasty and in bad taste. Get over it, she was a devil as PM but if you're still dwelling over it now then you need to move on.

Would dearly love another of those squeaky toys though, one of Blair too.

LineRunner · 12/09/2012 20:16

Spot on, Gordy.

I was able to keep working, and give my DCs a good start, by being able to afford decent child care.

By working, I was able to contribute in so many ways (I was teaching other people's kids; paying tax and NI; paying my own way; doing some voluntary work).

It was a win-win.

gordyslovesheep · 12/09/2012 20:17

Yeh - nowt to do with massive global economic crisis's or banker mismanaging funds - all down to spending a bit of money on EMA Grin

funny how those countries who continue to invest in employment and services - thus keeping people working and paying tax, are doing far better in this current climate than 'double dip Dave' and his cronies!

People who talk about how the unions had to be broken are missing the point

Alternatively they don't need to belong to unions or don't think they do, don't they MrsTerrys?

limitedperiodonly · 12/09/2012 20:32

gotthemoononastick You missed my point about 'bambi mandela'.
Maybe it's because you're not English. Or maybe you are and just obtuse.

My point was that unthinking people hurl insults unthinkingly.

Just as people who aren't familiiar with the politics of England and Ireland talk about rehabilitated members of the IRA as freedom fighters.

It hurts. But some of us see the need to swallow our hurt and move on but not forget.

limitedperiodonly · 12/09/2012 20:40

A good lifestyle choice was to get PG, have a child, get a flat. Was one of the most appealing options for girls my age. WHen I said I wanted to go to Uni my CAREERS teacher LAUGHED. TOld me a YTS would be more in keeping for my outlook on life (I did do a degree, and two post grad courses)

How do you think that view was fostered onceortwice?

We can't all move away or be local doctors, police officers, firemen or debt collectors. Lots of people would like to do the little jobs that aren't there any more.

I just thought flatpacks post warrented repeating for the benefit of those who appear to be sticking their fingers in their ears and singing lalala...

LineRunner · 12/09/2012 20:44

Repetition is soooo parallel universe.

Kayano · 12/09/2012 20:53

Don't know if you are aware borrowing has gone up Hmm

sunflowersfollowthesun · 12/09/2012 20:56

Because one you have debts they have to be serviced regardless of whether you were the party that created them.Hmm
