...to change the bedding once a week?

Do you think that's adequate? New partner says his ExDW changed it every 2-3 days. Now as far as I know they weren't bonking like mad (or so he told me!) so I don't see the need for that frequency! He's started staying over at mines on weekends, usually a Saturday but this week he stayed on Friday so the same sheets were on since the previous Sat iyswim. Also, we hadn't had sex in the bed the last time he was here (tmi?). I would normally change them on a Saturday morning as I work full time mon-fri. I'm actually feeling a bit Hmm about him comparing my cleanliness to ExDW as she didn't work. Anyway, I'm ranting. How often do you change your sheets?

I do mine once a week, unless there's been passion which is never

Lolwhut · 10/09/2012 19:39

Ill NOT I'll

SauvignonBlanche · 10/09/2012 19:39

Leave the bastard!

Markingthehours · 10/09/2012 19:40

Red flag Red flag Red flag Red flag Red flag Red flag Red flag Red flag Red flag

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2012 19:40

Absolutely no to ironing bedding. What a bloody thankless task that is - life is definitely too short.

Probably fortnightly here but more realistically when they start to smell

goldenlula · 10/09/2012 19:42

I aim for weekly in the Summer and fortnightly in the Winter, but sometimes it can be longer between washes!

NadiaWadia · 10/09/2012 19:42

Oh dear. The guy has possible OCD, I'd say, and is inept enough to compare your housekeeping to his ex's? Big flashing light, I think.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/09/2012 19:42

He can fuck off.

squeakytoy · 10/09/2012 19:42

If he is noticing the sheets rather than not being able to wait to get hold of you, then tell him to bog off!

SquishyCinnamonSwirls · 10/09/2012 19:43

Once a week and I definitely don't iron.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 10/09/2012 19:43

We aim for fortnightly.

We don't have very good aim. Blush

IneedAgoldenNickname · 10/09/2012 19:44

Once as week and I iron the pillowcases

Themumsnot · 10/09/2012 19:44

It's not the sheets you need to change...

bigkidsdidit · 10/09/2012 19:44

Once a week here too

This is one of those things like butter / marg and direction of cutting up sandwiches (squares vs triangles) where you do what your mum did and any other way is wrong

Duvet monthly
Sheets weekly
Pillowcases every 2-3 days

I don't iron our duvet or sheets (I do iron pillowcases) but I iron DD's duvet.

JeuxDEnfants · 10/09/2012 19:46

Once a week here too.

playdotcom · 10/09/2012 19:46

I'm not looking for anything long term or permanent here by the way, just struck me as odd that a guy who was coming over once a week having lots and lots of mind blowing sex with no ties would comment on something that has never even crossed my mind. Didn't even think guys noticed this sort of shit! My ex would have slept under the dog's blanket if it kept him warm...

Iteotwawki · 10/09/2012 19:46

Once a week. But all the bedding is identical so there's no way of people telling which sheets are which.

Would be hugely pissed off if DH had ever compared me to an ex - he certainly wouldn't have become DH if he had done!

coffeeinbed · 10/09/2012 19:46

I iron.
Blush

Trioofprinces · 10/09/2012 19:46

Once a week is what I tell anyone who asks in RL, in reality nearer once a month...

Mopandbucket · 10/09/2012 19:47

Lol themumsnot. Bin him. Once a week here.

talkingnonsense · 10/09/2012 19:47

Where's getorf? I'm sure she was a daily changer!

gordyslovesheep · 10/09/2012 19:48

once every 23 weeks here but I sleep alone and the kids only sleep here 4 nights out of seven

JoandMax · 10/09/2012 19:48

About twice a week, sometimes more. DH has a habit of night sweating when stressed so no way can they stay on! Never longer than a week, I aspire to be like Getorf and one day have fresh sheets daily........
