...to change the bedding once a week?

Do you think that's adequate? New partner says his ExDW changed it every 2-3 days. Now as far as I know they weren't bonking like mad (or so he told me!) so I don't see the need for that frequency! He's started staying over at mines on weekends, usually a Saturday but this week he stayed on Friday so the same sheets were on since the previous Sat iyswim. Also, we hadn't had sex in the bed the last time he was here (tmi?). I would normally change them on a Saturday morning as I work full time mon-fri. I'm actually feeling a bit Hmm about him comparing my cleanliness to ExDW as she didn't work. Anyway, I'm ranting. How often do you change your sheets?

So was earthpixie keeping gerbils in her bed? Grin

marriedinwhite · 11/09/2012 19:34

I do one bed per week so each bed is changed every three weeks. The guest room gets done after guests.

Lots of windows open though and if there is a bit of rumpy pumpy I change our bottom sheet Blush

modifiedmum · 11/09/2012 19:34

Every fortnight but if it's been hot and i've been feeling icky it can be once a week, i do find that a bit horrid he is comparing though!! 2 -3 days is excessive!!

foreverondiet · 11/09/2012 19:37

Once every 2 weeks - although probably more in summer. Tell him to do it himself!

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 11/09/2012 20:07

Crikey - that sounds like she was doing something very messy indeed while he was out of the house.

Or was a bit OCD.

Once a fortnight here.

milkysmum · 11/09/2012 20:10

probably average every couple of weeks- I'd be tempted to show him the door comparing you to his ex- wanker!

ROFL at Mrs Shortfuse

Once a week, every week here. Duvets and pillows washed only every six months

dementedma · 11/09/2012 20:18

About fortnightly, but pillow cases done more often as dh has a sweaty head and his pillowcase smells rank after a few days.
Dcs bedding when it occurs to me!

CommunistMoon · 11/09/2012 20:45

Once a week when I'm doing well

crashdollGOLD · 11/09/2012 21:06

When I'm rich, I'm going to hire someone to change my bed every day and iron my sheets. Is there anything better than crisp, clean bed sheets?

I'm too lazy to iron and once a week is enough effort for me.

OneMoreChap · 11/09/2012 21:08

Weekly.

Sack him.

SmellyFartado · 11/09/2012 21:15

Once a week here - any longer, and the salty sweaty smell from DH's half makes me feel all pukey. Plus, I love that feeling getting into a freshly washed bed on a Saturday night.

We have a mattress protector cover that gets washed at least once a month too - usually every 2weeks at the moment. I also wash pillows in the washing machine - have done this once a month over the summer but will do less often (once every other month) over winter as is pain in the arse drying them - we have 9 pillows on a super king size bed.

DC's beds get washed once a fortnight - unless any accidents - and are always ironed.

I used to iron sheets but then our DC came along and if I have any spare time now, I would rather paint my toenails and lounge about drinking wine and eating chocolate Grin

ethelb · 11/09/2012 21:22

All these people talking about sex meaning you have to change your sheets more we find that changing the bed more often means we have more sex! Its like a hotel!

nemno · 11/09/2012 21:25

Every 10 days here. And I find a super king duvet a PITA, it is one of my least favourite jobs. Once you've got it in there are still all those reverse buttons arrgh. AND 8 pillows/cushions :(

MsVestibule · 11/09/2012 21:27

Only once a month and we sleep naked and we sometimes do the sexuals. TBH, they could do with being washed twice a month, but it's a superking, we don't have a tumble drier or washing line, and I really can't be arsed. Pillow cases every 10 days, or whenever I do a whites wash.

I washed a House of Fraser supposedly machine washable hypo allergenic pillow by itself in a 7 kg capacity machine recently and was most unhappy that it got all twisted up inside Hmm.

Leave the bastard.

Once a week - we have a super king size bed but two single duvets. Much easier to change than one massive one. Also means no fighting.
