For his disablist comments? I would like to anyone who shares my anger to post. His a ridiculous person and a crap comedian. I'm sure I must have missed a thread about him already... But can't find one...

Yes on twitter

(searching Frankie Boyle offensive threw up 65 discussions)

TudorJess · 08/09/2012 22:16

YANBU. He's not funny, just unpleasant. That doesn't make him "edgy", just not very nice.

JeuxDEnfants · 08/09/2012 22:16

Well, I apologise if I've started a boring discussion. I only searched frankie Boyle and got a bunch of unrelated stuff. Apologies to the mn police :)

Have read his book. He was an alcoholic. Also took shed loads of any drugs going to fuel his writing. He used to be a teacher and work with people with mental health problems.

JeuxDEnfants · 08/09/2012 22:17

He used to work wih people with mh issues? Where did he lose his compassion or am I missing something?

edam · 08/09/2012 22:18

Bad judgement, bitterness, inappropriate behaviour, propensity to offensiveness - all alcoholic traits. He is an alcoholic, that's a known fact, but for all I know may be on the wagon now.

Mintyy · 08/09/2012 22:18

Here's one for a start.

Mintyy · 08/09/2012 22:19

Mn police - who are they then? Am I one?

RaisinDEtre · 08/09/2012 22:19

no no, I was replying to Mintyy

As I said earlier, FB is a tosser and YANBU at all

toucancancan · 08/09/2012 22:21

He just has a very black outlook on life. And I don't think he's bothered about toeing any line to maintain a career. Says this next stand up tour will be his last.

JeuxDEnfants · 08/09/2012 22:21

Actually, maybe it's not him to blame... He's just one guy... Maybe it's the people who encourage his vitriol

OP posts:
SirGOLDBoobs · 08/09/2012 22:21

He used to be vaguely entertaining on MTW, but he kind of got too fond of the sound of his own voice, I think. Now he's just plain offensive, not funny, and really will not care when he disappears into the "used to be kind of well known" state of ex celebs.

BigHairyFlowers · 08/09/2012 22:21

Does it really matter how many other threads there are? Hmm

MmeLindor · 08/09/2012 22:22

If we limit OPs to only posting about topics or issues that have never been discussed on MN, then it is going to be a very short list of Active Convos.

Was there something that you read or saw today that made you think of him, or just musing about him.

He is occasionally RTed into my timeline on Twitter but I have now blocked him so I don't see them anymore. Much preferable.

threeOrangesocksmorgan · 08/09/2012 22:22

I would love to meet him in rl.
just so I can tell him what a vile piece of shit he is

GreenD · 08/09/2012 22:23

I always found him funny. Some people don't have much of a sense of humour and have to analyse a joke before deciding whether it's funny or not.

threeOrangesocksmorgan · 08/09/2012 22:26

ffs if people can find someone who uses disabled people as the butt of well you can't call them jokes, that says a lot about them

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 08/09/2012 22:26

Dont hate him becaus he's offensive: that's exactly what he wants. Hate him because he has a poor grasp of how comedy actually works, and is a bit of a pathetic man.

I was just musing about his comments for the last week, then got annoyed by all the crappy coverage in tabloids about Paralympics... Like the cheating stuff and decided I needed to vent. Fb attitude towards disability kind of sums it up for me... That it is seen as a source of amusement makes me angry. Actually there was a phone in on a radio station for kids recently that asked what disability they would "prefer" to have, of the back of the paralympics. That says it all about the level of understanding and compassion in the uk. Plus don't mention the current government policies. Why don't we all just shit on people with disabilities. Laugh at them, pity them, lock them away, abuse them behind closed doors and take financial support away from them... They've done nothing different to any of us but what the hell... Easy target for ignorant people.

I find it quite pathetic that the best he can do is make jokes out of kids with disabilities, I don't hate him, I just don't want him on my Telly. I am surprised that he managed to carry on a tv career after the vile things he said about Jordan's son.

MissBetseyTrotwood · 08/09/2012 22:36

I have a fabulous sense of humour. I also have a child with special needs whose appearance and voice would probably provide FB with plenty of 'comic' material.

I can't be bothered with him. I just can't give him brain space - he's not worth it.

JeuxDEnfants · 08/09/2012 22:38

These jokes wouldn't be tolerated about race or sexuality. But disability is ok? What were channel 4 thinking and why are people so backward. Is it because they don't interact with many people with disabilities? Why does society have such a weird relationship with disability?
