... or at the very least all the OP's posts?

Just change your settings under Talk: Customise above to highlight the OP's posts in a different colour so they stand out. Then you can scroll through the pages and read all the OP's posts before posting yourself. You can even change how many posts appear on a page in a thread so you don't have to keep going through page after page.

I know some of you see a thread title and nearly wet yourselves in anticipation of posting your opinion before reading barely more than the OP but it might save you some embarrassment when the thread has moved on from say... someone saying her DP complains about her cooking to when it's revealed he's abusing her and the kids. Not to mention it keeps the thread cleaner and more on track.

TIA.

Empress it does work on mobile site, but not on the app.

FairLadyRantALot · 16/08/2012 11:56

OP, thanks for the tips....I didn't realise you could do that.... not really actively mumsnetting nowadays...lol...so... wasn't aware of this function :)

Feel bad now after your lovely greeting pinot
Thanks

Pinot · 16/08/2012 11:59

:o

TopCuppa · 16/08/2012 12:04

I have the op's and my posts highlighted (mobile site on my blackberry) but how do I bookmark?

Thumbwitch · 16/08/2012 12:15

You can apparently activate bookmarking in the Customise settings section as well (but I can't because it doesn't work on MN Classic, only New)

ViviPru · 16/08/2012 12:19

What does bookmarking do, specifically?

Yes I am you cheeky baggage - I prefer the look of it Grin

Tee2072 · 16/08/2012 12:58

Come into the 21st Century, both of you cheeky old gimmers!

CouthyMow · 16/08/2012 13:05

I only gave up on Classic about 8 months ago. Another old gimmer here. Only changed as I wanted to be able to bookmark posts!

Haven't read the whole thread, someone may have posted this already. Sorry. :)

YABU OP.

The other irritating thing is, if the thread is ~300 posts long and you decide to jump in with "Just leave him a plate of what the kids had, he's just tired after working so hard"... or whatever - do you not think someone might have said that already?

Is your bon mot so unique, witty and important that you don't care if you are the 301st person to post it on the thread?

ViviPru · 16/08/2012 13:32

I love that last paragraph of yours, Boulevard Grin

I clicked on a MN link through a friend's FB once, and at first couldn't work out wtaf was wrong with the site - until I realised that I was seeing it on the other person's settings. It was horrifying.

Love this thread!
Didn't know about the bookmarking till now.

See - reading the whole thread is very educational.

I didn't know how to customise OP's posts. Have customised it now. I find it more annoying when people obviously haven't read the OP's first post. The post might say something about a 9 year old DS and some idiot poster will inevitably ask how old are the DC.
with some OP's you just know there will be drip feeding, so just to spite I will only reply according to the info on the OP's first post.

Pinot · 16/08/2012 16:28

I had a bon mot once. Soon cleared up with antibiotics.

FunnysInLaJardin · 16/08/2012 16:34

I haven't read the thread and often don't before I post my knee jerk response. Mainly on the basis that no one takes a blind bit of notice anyway, but partly because I like to post and then read.
