I've been on longer train journeys natch. No one plans for them.
Us flying STILL really seen as chic ? Do people believe those stupid articles about changing into cashmere track suits apply for an easy jet to Malaga ?

Plus don't get me started on capsule wardrobes.

Grr. "one hour" flights

OP posts:
TheFarSide · 13/08/2012 17:25

Yeah, like the press are waiting for them at the other end ...

YANBU

Sirzy · 13/08/2012 17:26

I don't understand why anyone would travel in anything but comfy clothes and shoes you can kick off easily

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2012 17:27

It's probably all just in excitement for a holiday? Planning is half the fun therefore YABU

MadeleineAlright · 13/08/2012 17:27

"You must take a pashmina".
Fgs. It's a plane. Get over it.

(To think I used to rant over the uniquity of baby pasta and babies on long haul flight posts. ;) )

OP posts:
lucidlady · 13/08/2012 17:28

YANBU about flight outfits

YABU about capsule wardrobes. Mine saves me so much time in the mornings. What's wrong with them?

MadeleineAlright · 13/08/2012 17:28

Fair enough if it's Australia irvwhatever. But tvh no one looks good after long haul.

OP posts:
MadeleineAlright · 13/08/2012 17:29

Capsule for holiday. Why can't people just say
" ah here are my shorts , those t shirts go with them. I will pack them"

It's not science.

OP posts:
lemonpie7 · 13/08/2012 17:30

well, it's farily harmless, isn't it.

StuntGirl · 13/08/2012 17:30

Why are you so angry over something so unimportant?

happierhigherstrongerwheezing · 13/08/2012 17:31

I plan what I'm wearing, but only out of comfort.
I get changed before I go too and think about the shoes I wear but this is a safety thing, I don't understand those who wear stupid shoes on board

MadeleineAlright · 13/08/2012 17:32

This is aibu. This is anger hq.
Why are you reading something so "unimportant"?

Go and start a donkey sanctuary or something.

OP posts:
Fluffy1234 · 13/08/2012 17:33

I'm just in the process of planning mine. I always decide what I'm travelling in and then start my packing after that. All part of the holiday ritual for me.

lisaro · 13/08/2012 17:33

To be fair, it's nowhere near as twatty as using 'natch' for no discernible reason.

MadeleineAlright · 13/08/2012 17:34

Oh grandma. Natch is an abbreviation commonly used.
Keep up.

OP posts:
oranges · 13/08/2012 17:35

What are you talking about? Surely people need to wear something on planes, and don't feel compelled to pull things out of the wardrobe blindfolded? So by choosing clothes, any clothes, they are "planning outfits."

LynetteScavo · 13/08/2012 17:37

Are these the same people who take travel candles on holiday with them?

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 13/08/2012 17:38

YABU. A travel outfit for a five hour flight needs to look ok, keep you warn at this end but not be too hot at the other end. It needs to work with airplanes that are too hot, and airplanes that are too cold.

Granted, it doesn't take a lot of thought, but it does take some! And some people like thinking about what to wear, whether it's neccesary or not. Thats up to them.

lisaro · 13/08/2012 17:38

An abbreviation of what? Commonly used where? Not being snitty now, just genuinely only ever seen it on here once or twice.

MadeleineAlright · 13/08/2012 17:38

Yup. Take candles. So right.

OP posts:
Fireandashes · 13/08/2012 17:39

I plan my holiday-travelling outfit so that I a) don't inadvertently pack it and then decide on the morning I want it out of the suitcase b) because with baggage charges the way they are, everything in my case has to earn its place so every skirt/pair of trousers etc has to go with at least two different tops to make the cut and c) to make sure I'll be comfortable. Nothing to do with 'chic' (I wish...)

So yes, YABU.

SPsFanjoSponsorsTheOlympics · 13/08/2012 17:39

What is natch?

MadeleineAlright · 13/08/2012 17:39

Oh. Apologies then. Dunno, I hear a lot. Do have teenagers tho. :$

OP posts:
Pandemoniaa · 13/08/2012 17:39

I don't plan, as such. I just know that I'll wear something from the combination of stuff in the wardrobe that doesn't look ridiculous at an English airport on a chilly morning and make you die of heat when I get off the plane.

Fireandashes · 13/08/2012 17:39

Natch = naturally. I've seen it used elsewhere so I'm with you there, OP.
