to be really annoyed about scented Always pads?

I?ve used Always since they first came out in the UK (waaaay back when) and always (sorry) been happy with them. They were a revelation after the inch-thick leaky horrors of my early teens. Anyway, I notice they are now only available scented ? at least the ones I use (Night ? for those heavy heavy times). WHY???? Not only do I really dislike the heavy implication that a) my fanjo smells terrible and b) I don?t know to wash myself and wear clean underwear, but the smell makes me heave - it?s like the worst elements of synthetic old-lady and teenager perfumes mixed together ? and I really don?t want to stick chemicals right on my most sensitive part. Bought some last month because I hadn?t realised they were scented, and while I can almost never smell my own period I can constantly smell the stupid scent.

Thanks a bunch Always Angry I shall be switching to Boots? own brand from now on (until they become bloody scented as well)

Bodyform with wings are really great, far better than any of Always. You can also buy a really nice natural brand in Boots called Cottons (I think). They are in a cream wrapper with green writing. Work really well. I think fragrance in any form near the lady garden is a bad idea!

I think having to go around smelling like an air freshener is worse than the smell of blood which is not so bad as long as pads are changed regularly. Surely Always sales figures must have dropped lately as so many people seem to have stopped buying them because of the smell?

This thread explains a lot of my past foof issues. And there's been a lot. AngryBlush

Ill be sticking with morrisons own and the occasional lil-lets whenever they being out fancy packaging to keep them in. With drawstring ribbons and everything!

Mehh... it's just a gimmick to draw in people who are aleady paranoid about having a smelly period fanny. Some people are. Some people need to twee-ify their natural functions. I know people like this. They aren't going to change, much like most of us aren't going to stop seeing sense! I agree with whoever said they smell like an old lady handbag though Grin

If you don't want the chemicals, buy something else. They work for me, so I use them. I even used them post partum with a nasty tear (I know right? Naaawty! Maternity towels are fucking horrible bunchy stitch splitting bastard knicker logs ) My fanny didn't fall off.

I know the implication that we are manky when we menstruate is massively offensive, but I honestly don't think it's meant like that. It's just a gimmick to draw in those who already think periods are manky. That's their problem

MamaChubbyLegs · 11/06/2013 08:07

(When I say "they work for me", I mean their primary purpose mopping up and hiding my period, not prettifying my fanny)

My local Lidl has Siempre (I.e. the Euro version of "Always") for sale which doesn't have the stinky pearls added. I buy the tampons which are fine, they stock pads as well.

vvalaplage · 23/06/2013 20:00

Like the first poster I have been an early Always user till they added their 'fresh pearl' (they don't call it a scent). That induced a massive (and unpleasant) contact allergy. I wrote to P&G to moan and they sent me a list of their products that have no beads or perfume. Basically the Silk one (black packets) are like the old Always.

monkeynuts123 · 23/06/2013 21:22

And they make my arse sore, always!

FlickfromEarlsfield · 05/08/2015 09:20

Anything that is scented has endocrine disrupting chemicals in it, so is therefore bad for you!

AboutTimeIChangedMyNameAgain · 05/08/2015 09:31

And you joined to drag up a 3 year old thread to say that?

AliceScarlett · 05/08/2015 11:50

A-mazing
