surely it is a waste of money. and how does the toddler/6 year old even know or understand their t.shirt.

I agree about Nelson, Malcom etc too.

To be honest I wince when there are people like Beyonce posing with Mandela and proclaiming he is purely for the reasons mentioned above.

I see no problem with children wearing band tshirts... I dislike children being used to display parents "political" views.

differentnameforthis · 01/08/2012 01:22

but do they really like led zeppelin

Both my girls have Guns n Roses Tees. And yes, they both LOVE the band. They are 3 & 9.

differentnameforthis · 01/08/2012 01:24

I'd rahter see little kids in band t-shirts than in No Added Sugar tops with 'they beat me' etc on

Agree. Or 'dad only wanted a blow job'. [cringe]

pictish · 01/08/2012 08:50

Hmmm I saw a babygro that siad 'they shake me' and I found it rather funny.
Cba getting the hump about kids clothes.

pictish · 01/08/2012 08:51

Kids like whatever makes mummy look happy btw. If you were a Kylie fan your daughters would LOVE Kylie!

wigglesrock · 01/08/2012 08:58

My 3 dds have all worn the Mama ain't raising no fool t-shirts. We were given one as a present for dd1 and its done all 3.

I don't have a problem with band t-shirts at all but if band t-shirts are ok, then so is character wear etc. I remember a thread last year where posters got all arsey over children wearing the likes of Peppa Pig stuff. At least I know my 18 month likes that.

pictish · 01/08/2012 09:01

Hehehe - that's funny because I pretty much ban any tv character clothes. I find them crass and ugly to my own eye, so I don't buy them.
I don't mind if anyone else does though.

Feminine · 01/08/2012 09:04

pic sorry I don't understand your post at 08:50 ...you think that babygrow was funny Confused

pictish · 01/08/2012 09:12

Yes. And before you start, no I don't find children being abused funny, even if I do have a black sense of humour at times.
And?

Feminine · 01/08/2012 09:14

Well then I remain perplexed.

what have I missed? how is that funny?

pictish · 01/08/2012 09:15

I'm not going to argue with you. Sorry.

MrsKeithRichards · 01/08/2012 09:22

After hearing Neil diamond on the radio yesterday my son has been going about singing forever in blue jeans.

I will not be buying a Neil diamond t shirt - not cool!

pictish · 01/08/2012 09:27

Ohhh come on Neil DIamond is way cool - Forever In Blue Jeans is a cracker!
Also - a lot of us grew up with our parents listening to Neil Diamond, and I think it's true to say (for me anyway) that hearing his better known tracks sets off a sense of lovely melancholy nostalgia.
Therefore, a Neil Diamond t-shirt and how your ds came to be wearing it would make a fun talking point and raise a few smiles.
I would chuckle at it anyway...

pictish · 01/08/2012 09:28

Not that you'd find a Neil Diamond t-shirt, more's the pity.

Feminine · 01/08/2012 09:30

I wouldn't argue with you pic you sound a rather sad individual.

pictish · 01/08/2012 09:36

Ok then.

GlassofRose · 01/08/2012 11:30

pic -

I've seen that babygrow, I chuckled too...

Fem - You've just tried to start an argument then threw around the insults. Y'know what they say about people in glass houses right?

chocoluvva · 01/08/2012 11:34

YANBU -waste o' money IMO. Save the difference between the rock-group t-shirt and a cheapie from a supermarket for their higher education !

glass in my first post to pic I asked her to explain further, along the lines of perhaps I didn't have the whole story.

I was then told that she didn't want to start an argument Confused

I didn't either. However, leaving a her comment as it stood, was odd to say the least.

GlassofRose · 01/08/2012 12:11

Fem - Sorry, it seems to me that you were brewing an argument not the other way round.

If you don't have that kind of humour, that's fine. No need to start calling people "sad individuals" is there?

Feminine · 01/08/2012 12:43

I think if one leaves such a comment, and refuses to explain any further its really rather strange.

Just my opinion. You can quit your PR job now, I'm done.

MrsMymble · 01/08/2012 14:58

YABU (a bit). My kids have some band t-shirts, because they like the music. DS1 has a Doors t-shirt because he loves them. He got really very upset when he grew out of it and it got passed down to DS2. He also has a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers t-shirt, which took me an age to track down - he has been obsessed with them since he was about 3 (he is 4 now). I am bloody sick of them now because that's all he wants to listen to.

GlassofRose · 01/08/2012 15:04

Fem - What needed explaining. She see a "they shake me" slogan on a babygrow and it made her laugh Confused

fuzzpig · 01/08/2012 15:11

If I ever have another baby I will be getting them a big bang theory Bazinga baby vest :o
