BupcakesandCunting · 17/07/2012 10:58

Please familiarise yourself with capital letters.

WorraLiberty · 17/07/2012 10:58

veh nice anyone?

Tee2072 · 17/07/2012 10:59

DS and DH are not MN vocab but 'net vocab.

Do try to keep up.

Ta

WorraLiberty · 17/07/2012 11:01

Really Tee? I'm going to show my age now and admit to using internet forums for around 16 years and I've honestly never seen it anywhere else.

echt · 17/07/2012 11:02

Are you local, OP?

dreadingseptember · 17/07/2012 11:03

It's only annoying when you start using it in RL

futureunknown · 17/07/2012 11:03

I was thinking it would be the cunt, fuck type of MN vocab you would be referring to. You need to toughen up OP .

Dprince · 17/07/2012 11:03

Ds, dh etc are used on all the parenting forums I have been on. I have seen them used on other forums too.

MinnieBar · 17/07/2012 11:04

Oh I love . So much more eloquent than 'it gave me an irrational rage for no good reason, but one that I'm sure you can all relate to', or indeed the more obvious 'I wanted to punch his/her lights out'.

TheEternalOptimist · 17/07/2012 11:04

Um. I think that 'shouty' and 'stabby' are different to DH and DS.

And there is some MN vocab that I am not keen on but those are pretty harmless really.

Tee2072 · 17/07/2012 11:04

Yes, worra. Really. I have also been on the internet at least that long.

I first saw it on Delphi Forums, oh, 15 years ago?

It's common usage on all relationship/parenting forums.

And may have actually started on Usernet. Not sure.

Amykins · 17/07/2012 11:06

I hate when people put "much?" or "no?" at the end of a sentence.

For example, "Precious, much?" "A good idea, no?"

Sounds terribly affected to me. I am very glad you started this thread; this has been annoying me for ages.

ElephantsCanRemember · 17/07/2012 11:07

So don't use them

EyesCrossedLegsAkimbo · 17/07/2012 11:08

I've seen DH, DS etc on several boards.

I have never understood why the phrase "junk punch" isn't used more often on MN.

TheEternalOptimist · 17/07/2012 11:09

If we are banning words, can we include 'cuntworms' and variations of 'cunt' used in a oh-so-funny-we-are-so-cool manner.

Sorry, to all the cuntworm lot, but it makes me shudder. I even left the FB group cause I couldn't bear it. (Is the group still there?)

CuttedUpPear · 17/07/2012 11:09

Love stabby. Am considering using it in RL.

HTH

NurseBernard · 17/07/2012 11:09

DH and DS are all over the place and have been for years - originated in America, no?

I hardly think MN would have coined anything as twee as 'dear husband'. Grin

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 17/07/2012 11:10

capitals are for losers Grin

WorraLiberty · 17/07/2012 11:11

Ahh that'll explain it then

This is the only parenting forum I've ever been on Grin

stmoritzsmells · 17/07/2012 11:12

It isn't 'dear husband' though. Not really. It's dh and you just add your own value term to it. I suspect for the majority it just reads as 'husband'. Single letter acronyms scan badly on forums and it just makes good sense this way. It's a shared language and part of what makes us a community but you don't have to use it if you don't want to. Just don't hun or lol instead.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 17/07/2012 11:15

I love stabby and massively overuse it on here
