is it so they can spot each other and feel like they are in some middle class club?

OP unless you are in the habit of buying Haute Couture "pieces" then you too are a sheep because undoubtedly someone else is wearing what you are wearing.

I cannot abide this slagging off Boden-wearing individuals. Does it really matter? Undoubtedly there will be some saddos who see it as a statement about their status but why not just let them get on with it? I don't see how it really impinges on your life to such an extent that you feel it necessitates an AIBU post.

And not caring about style or fashion (and the message you send out to others by what you wear) doesn't make you a higher-minded individual either.

Boden is a southern thing Wink

happywheezer · 12/07/2012 09:15

I've got Boden jeans arriving today, I do hope they have got a Boden label on them, so people know exactly where I got them from, unlike other brands of course.

Boden sells much better on resale than most other brands on ebay, so when you buy it you lose less money. So it is good value for money.

Next sale is saturday, might be more up your street.

freddiefrog · 12/07/2012 09:15

I couldn't give a shiney shite where people buy their clothes from to be honest.

I personally don't like Boden, nothing floats my boat. My kids are more Animal/Billabong type clothes fans, so I've never bought anything from them

SoleSource · 12/07/2012 09:17

Boden clothing is available up to size 22? Are they generous with their sizing or skimpy?

ah OP like it fooking matters in the great scheme of things - I am betting YOu have brought more than one item from the same shop - does that make you a sheep?

I have just got some bits for the holiday in their sale - shoot me now.

I also got loads from Next Sale - I am obviously a torn sheep with no loyalty

I saw a Boden Family in Westfield on Saturday. The dad was in a pastel gingham "casual" shirt (Blackberry in hand, ignoring kids), mum was in a "fun" skirt and top with one of those frilly necks, and the kids were in an assortment of hotchpotch, spotty and twirly outfits. The kids were all running round the restaurant annoying everyone and the staff but being free spirited waving wands and wearing fairy wings. I think the whole group of 'em thought they were in a Boden catalogue shoot.

VenetiaLanyon · 12/07/2012 09:42

Boden is great for work dresses (if you avoid the patterns), very reasonably priced, doesn't need to be dry-cleaned and can be bought conveniently and quickly for those of us that never make it to the shops.

Would never occur to me that it is something to show off about, as it isn't designer or expensive...

Mrsjay · 12/07/2012 09:42

as i said ^^ there it is just clothes but laqueen is making me Grin

DonkeyTeapot · 12/07/2012 09:43

Shops do tend to have more than one customer each, so wherever you shop, there will be others wearing the same thing. That pretty much makes us all "sheep." Except me, obviously. I weave all my own clothes. From lentils.

noddyholder · 12/07/2012 09:43

An old neighbour of mine asked me to feed her cats while they were on holiday. Her kitchen blackboard had ocado order Boden order and all manner of trendy food on her to do list. This was in about July. When I was next in the house in winter for hot choc in the snow the lit was still there exactly the same. This s what you are dealing with with Boden wearers! Wink

ariadne1 · 12/07/2012 09:44

I love Boden tunics. They cover a multitude of sins!! I like their dresses too which make me feel very feminine and girly!
