is it so they can spot each other and feel like they are in some middle class club?

Anyone would think that you're envious ssd.

I mean really, who cares where people buy their clothes?

MorrisZapp · 12/07/2012 06:59

What are you wearing today, OP?

theodorakis · 12/07/2012 07:07

That's a bit harsh and how do you know what cyber people are wearing anyway? I avoid PTA pushy mummy type people but I don't judge them until they have at least opened their mouth and started talking about how clever Crispen is. I don't judge them at all actually, just avoid them.

Silverstar2 · 12/07/2012 07:28

I like the skirts as I like my skirts to be of a more 'substantial' material iykwim? Being not-so- skinny I hate all those flippy flappy flimsy things, show all my worse bits off.

So I tried Boden, as they are thicker material, A line, they do short lengths, and wow! I now love them an have bought more off ebay.

I don't care where they are from, they FIT.

So YABU Smile

manicinsomniac · 12/07/2012 07:33

YABU to call people sheep for wearing Boden unless you are going to call people sheep for buying their own preferred brand of clothing. Very few people have unique clothing sources.

My clothes are a random mixture of boden, asda, joules, tesco, hollister, primark, jack wills, new look, fat face, sainsburys, joe browns, ralph lauren etc - ie, lots of cheap and lots of designer. I think most people are the same. We are not sheep, we just buy what we want.

KittyFane1 · 12/07/2012 07:35

I have never bought anything from Boden even though 'Jonnie' keeps sending me cheery letters and vouchers.

I'm also wondering where you shop OP! I wonder what your favourite shop is? so that we can all rip it apart and label you as a ...

KatherineKavanagh · 12/07/2012 07:38

Boden scares me. It makes toddler clothes for grown women.

So true!!!

iamme43 · 12/07/2012 07:50

Before I came on MN I had never even heard of Boden..

Vickles · 12/07/2012 07:57

Go back to netmums love....

toptramp · 12/07/2012 08:01

Boden is the epitome of frumpsville. Having said that I own a lovely Boden knitted dress which I bought second hand for £20. Lovely it is. It's good for when I want to channel wholesome but dull middle class wanabee!

QuickLookBusy · 12/07/2012 08:05

If you buy in the sales, Boden clothes are very good value. I've got skirts, t shirts and cardigans from Boden which are six years old and still look great.
Their shoes are also well made and last ages.

I only buy their plain classic stuff pieces though.

iamme43 · 12/07/2012 08:10

Never heard of Netmums til I came on here either.........

noddyholder · 12/07/2012 08:12

Frumpy and over priced I don,t know anyone irl who were it ok for chidren

Northernlurker · 12/07/2012 08:13

Boden do a size 22. Many, in fact most, high street retailers stop at 18. That's why I have so much Boden. It's stuff that looks nice on me and I get a lot of compliments.

noddyholder · 12/07/2012 08:13

Wears not were

SoleSource · 12/07/2012 08:18

I do love some Boden stuff :) I cannot afford it so I'm jealous.

Mrsjay · 12/07/2012 08:20

I suspect it is the same for the sheep who shop at next or zara MEH it is just clothes Hmm although i wouldnt know how t spot anybody woman or child in boden Grin

UnChartered · 12/07/2012 08:23

is Boden only available online? i've never seen any stuff in a shop - so that would be why 'so many' MNers talk about it, because by coincidence, they are online too Hmm

DilysPrice · 12/07/2012 08:24

Kids' stuff isn't bad though, the charity shops of Clapham have kitted my DCs out in Boden for years.

WhyTheBigPaws · 12/07/2012 08:24

It's like anything, if you wear it head to toe it's not great but a few well chosen pieces bits of Boden mixed with other stuff works for me. I like the quality, the plainer styles, the sale prices, the resale value and the fact that I can try on in the comfort of my own home. Baaaa - so what :)

Did laugh at 1950s teddy bear though!

baskingseals · 12/07/2012 08:55

not really a boden sort of person.
BUT wore a top my sister gave me yesterday, and got the loveliest compliment in the butcher's. first one for YEARS. Grin

was wearing primark jeans as well, so perhaps that cancels out the top.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 12/07/2012 09:02

I love Boden. It's like Monsoon. If I see it in a charity shop I know I am going to be able to sell it on eBay!
Hurrah
Why be mean about other people liking it?

I would yet buy it to wear but if others like it what is the big deal?

Can't we just all get along :(

Right, I'm off to have a look...

Ambrosius · 12/07/2012 09:14

Don't people (and I think that's what most MNers are Hmm) just wear clothes that they like and can afford?
