VW golf? Is that no a bit fancy? Mare like a Saxo or Punto :)

BorisTheBold · 05/07/2012 16:55

Grin @ "haw bawbag, gies a baw and a racket?"

Frontpaw · 05/07/2012 17:06

Surely it would have been "geez a ba' an' a bat"?

yellowraincoat · 05/07/2012 17:09

Oh it was some sort of joke.

Blush

Love that sketch too, offal and deep fried heroin.

MrsReiver · 05/07/2012 17:14

Hee hee, we must have classy boy racers round here, they all drive golfs.

(and MrReiver drives a punto.)

redlac · 05/07/2012 17:30

Forgetting he's from Dunblane right enough!

Frontpaw us Stirlingshire fowk like a good round w so I like to think it would be a bawwww an' a bat :)

redlac · 05/07/2012 17:35

Heck just realised Dunblane is technically Perthshire so you might be right FrontPaw :)

Frontpaw · 05/07/2012 17:51

I am trilingual - glaswegian, stirlingish (dunblane dialect) and posh english.

PrettyCherryTrees · 05/07/2012 18:24

Redlac Dunblane is Perthshire for postal purposes but Stirlingshire for council tax so it could go either way!

AmIthatbad · 05/07/2012 21:01

Yes, and in Perthshire, we would definitely say Bawwwwww

ClaireBunting · 06/07/2012 00:37

Reading the OP's post from 12.06 Thursday.

How exactly is Andy Murray unsporting.

Seriously, if you are going to make stupid accusations, you really need to back it up with evidence.

ClaireBunting, they are hardly stupid accusations, it's completely well known and as someone else stated this is often commented on by a great number of tennis commentators and fellow sportsmen and women that he can behave like an unsporting child at times - he's well known for throwing his racket around, and has been fined for swearing oh and then moan that he gets 'picked on' because he swears in English.. I'm sorry but if that isn't a tad pathetic and unsporting what is ?

Queenofsiburbia.. indeed it's all been taken far too seriously and I couldn't agree more with all your comments!

ClaireBunting · 06/07/2012 13:40

Being unsporting is putting down your opponent, which Murray never does. He is always highly respectful of his opponents and very gracious about them.

Being frustrated with his own play is not unsporting. It usually helps the opponent.

HappyJoyful · 06/07/2012 14:45

I would say the definition of unsporting is wider than that and no, he's not always gracious and respectful. He's said things previously that he'll try and make his opponent lose their temper and what can he do legally on court to annoy someone. Nice!

He may well in your eyes be highly respectful but personally I'm with Federer's who has called him unsporting for pulling out of a tournament that he requested a wild card for.

OP posts:
ClaireBunting · 06/07/2012 15:59

So he should play in a minor tournament with an injury?

Do you think this should apply to all players or do you reserve it for just Murray?

TroLoLoLo · 06/07/2012 16:48

I am watching Murray and Tsonga, I really hope they both win. way to scared of angry MN'ers to say who I actually want to win

BorisTheBold · 06/07/2012 18:53

HappyJoyful, again I'd like to say

TroLoLoLo · 06/07/2012 19:21

That was a great match, I love Tsonga's wild play. It should be a great final and I don't mind who wins.

I think it could go either way.

paradisechick · 06/07/2012 19:25

Ya dancer!

Better than that wet blanket Tim nice but dim ever done!

Get it up ye!

WilsonFrickett · 06/07/2012 19:30

Come on Andy, ya long streak of (grumpy) wet piss ya. Get in there! Those years of rocking up, saying 'haw bawbag giesa ball an a bat' have paid off Grin

AmIthatbad · 06/07/2012 19:39

But paradisechick, don't you realise that Timbo may not have been as good a player, or had as much success. He smiled at people and was a wee bit pleasant and had nice hair!! Apparently that's the most important thing when you're a professional sportsman. Oh and Timmy's parents were awfully refined, doncha know, none of this pushy parent malarkey.
