Before I start I realise that the following will makes us sound like teenagers but I assure you we are actual adults.

I make cakes. Not for money, just for friends and family. If I'm asked to make any I just ask for whoever to buy the flour/sugar etc.

A friend at work wants use to go into business together. She makes lovely cakes but cant really decorate them.

Im not interested. Between work and 3dc i just dont have time.

She has recently become obsessed with cake pops. She makes loads of the things. To be fair, hers do taste lovely.

Anyway, i bought myself a machine that makes them. I made some yesterday and took one into work for her to taste.

She had a fit! Told me I have to stop making them as it was not fair to her. Cake pops are her thing apparently. She also said that if I'm ever asked to make any I have to pass the person her way. Its only fair Hmm

I I just laughed but I know she is serious about this.

What the heck is a cake pop??

AlistairSim · 02/07/2012 19:37

Oh and just continue laughing at her.

Onlyaphase · 02/07/2012 19:37

Depends. Is she trying to sell her cake pops?

WorraLiberty · 02/07/2012 19:37

I think you two should fight it out

How about a duel at dawn?

Cake pops at 20 paces...that ought to sort it.

youmeatsix · 02/07/2012 19:37

everybody and their dog makes cakepops these days, carry on laughing at her

loopyluna · 02/07/2012 19:38

What's a cake pop?

maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavour · 02/07/2012 19:38

She is being unreasonable and a loon

KittyFane1 · 02/07/2012 19:38

She's mad! YANBU. You can make cake pops if you like! along with her and a million other people silly woman! (her not you)!

Hullygully · 02/07/2012 19:39

wtf is a cake pop?

Kveta · 02/07/2012 19:39

she is a loon.

is the machine worth buying btw?

trixie123 · 02/07/2012 19:39

how bizarre.. they're not a copyright that someone owns! If she can't decorate them then she doesn't have a business anyway. Try to keep it light-hearted but make it clear that you're not going to do as she suggests (unless it suits you because you are too busy)

KittyFane1 · 02/07/2012 19:40

Ask her if she owns the rights to cake pops. Funny but I bet she umm, doesn't. Crazy lady.

Pickles77 · 02/07/2012 19:40

What's a cake pop?

thisisyesterday · 02/07/2012 19:40

oh i can see why she would be a bit upset

she wants to go into business doing this, you've said you aren't interested. but you then start doing exactly the thing she is trying to make money doing and not only that you take one into work for her??
that's slightly odd.

i think she is over-reacting with the whole pass the person onto her comment, but i can kind of see her point of view. a bit

MrsTrellisOfSouthWales · 02/07/2012 19:41

This can only be settled one way.

Both of you must make me a hundred cake pops each and when I have eaten them all, I shall declare a winner. The loser must never make another cake pop. Ever.

MikeLitoris · 02/07/2012 19:41

They are balls of cake on a stick.

She is hoping to sell them. The thing is she cant decorate them. She knows this. This is why she wants me to start up with her.

There are so many people making them i dont think there is any money to be made in it.

thisisyesterday · 02/07/2012 19:41

i guess she needs the money and is worried that you are going to start making them too and do her out of customers. i think that's a fair worry tbh

AlmostAHipster · 02/07/2012 19:41

What a silly woman!

She's not the Cake Pop Queen < snooty >

SundaeGirl · 02/07/2012 19:42

Unhinged. But maybe having a hormonal bad time and you got a weird response because of it?

TenaciousOne · 02/07/2012 19:42

Yanbu. She sounds weird.

I want to know more about your cake pop machine. I love making them but having to try different recipes as DS has CMPA so wondering how the machine works.

gamerwidow · 02/07/2012 19:42

Your friend is being unreasonable but maybe she feels a bit put out because in her mind you've refused to go in business with her and now you're nicking her cake pop idea.
Maybe you could reassure her that you're not about to take business from her but at the same time you'll cook whatever you want without her permission.

Hullygully · 02/07/2012 19:42

BALLS OF CAKE ON A STICK?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Catsmamma · 02/07/2012 19:43

tell everyone she picks her nose and never washes her hands.

serin · 02/07/2012 19:43

Its a daft cake on a stick.
