Before I start I realise that the following will makes us sound like teenagers but I assure you we are actual adults.

I make cakes. Not for money, just for friends and family. If I'm asked to make any I just ask for whoever to buy the flour/sugar etc.

A friend at work wants use to go into business together. She makes lovely cakes but cant really decorate them.

Im not interested. Between work and 3dc i just dont have time.

She has recently become obsessed with cake pops. She makes loads of the things. To be fair, hers do taste lovely.

Anyway, i bought myself a machine that makes them. I made some yesterday and took one into work for her to taste.

She had a fit! Told me I have to stop making them as it was not fair to her. Cake pops are her thing apparently. She also said that if I'm ever asked to make any I have to pass the person her way. Its only fair Hmm

I I just laughed but I know she is serious about this.

YANBU. Your friend isn't the copyright-holder of cake pops :o

valiumredhead · 03/07/2012 14:24

Oh just keep laughing at her!

There is a machine for everything these days, what's so wrong with old fashioned bun cases.

geminitiger · 03/07/2012 15:04

Sorry, but this has to be said - CAKE OR DEATH???

Mmmmmmm cake. I think that I need to go out..... Wink

pumpkinsweetie · 03/07/2012 15:56

Maybe there is money to be made after all!!
£2:50 per cake pop, if i made 50 that would be £125 in my pocket, tell your friend im thinking of selling them too, she best get that copyright patent quick...Grin

sugarice · 03/07/2012 16:01

I'm curious as to how she expressed her outrage, did she stamp her foot and say "but it was my idea first" , fold her arms and have a pouty lip. Cake Pops really need to be well decorated and pretty so she's shafted anyway if she can't do that. Yanbu but she is.

CockBollocks · 03/07/2012 16:10

I really want a cake pop maker to sit in my cupboard and gather dust with the bread/pasta/toastie makers

WifiNappies · 03/07/2012 16:24

What's the point of a cake pop?

I think you should buy a badgemaker and make badges and sell them on a stall next to her.

Everyone loves badges!

quoteunquote · 03/07/2012 16:37

Where can I get a friend that makes cake pops?

OP, if you fall out with your friend, could you get her to pm me, and I will happily do her taste testing, and comfort her by agreeing what a cow you are.
well until the pops run out

Herrena · 03/07/2012 16:38

Cake badges! Cake pops that you can wear as badges, decorated with a small slogan. And when you're bored of it as a badge, you can eat it.

Patent pending don't any of you bastards try and steal it

quoteunquote · 03/07/2012 16:39

is this her website?

pumpkinsweetie · 03/07/2012 16:39

Love it Herrana, the cake could be glued onto badge with icing.
Yum edible badges, you are a genius

CurrySpice · 03/07/2012 16:39

Am I the only person intrigued by a cake pop machine?

thebody · 03/07/2012 17:44
