OliviaLMumsnet · 25/06/2012 18:25

@MrsTerryPratchett

To the person who PMed me and told be not to have any more children, I have reported your PM and don't intend to engage with you further.

We are on the case here folks. For the record we absolutely don't allow this
Thanks
MNHQ

Cheers Olivia. I've got to go and play in RL life but Thanks to everyone. For the record, almost every interaction I have had on here has been wonderful.

Purpleprickles · 25/06/2012 18:35

Lurking totally agree with you here Grin

MrsTP what a horrible message to get. I can't comprehend why someone would think it's acceptable to do that.

DilysPrice · 25/06/2012 18:42

Just to add my voice to the hopes that whoever said that to Mrs TP gets banned - there is a line, and that's pretty much the definition of crossing it.
I know you can dismiss it for the crap it is, but that doesn't make the sender's actions any better.

AnnaMosity · 25/06/2012 18:53

HOW'S THE BALKAN EXPRESS?

OP posts:
Floggingmolly · 25/06/2012 19:21

MrsTerryPratchett. I'd have given you evils if I was relaxing in a restaurant and you decided to "ignore" your child's screaming fit.
That sort of parenting is best done in the privacy of your own home, not inflicted on other diners.

MrGrey · 25/06/2012 19:22

YADBU, if you said you were in the cinema, or in a posh restaurant I woudl say yanbu. But it's a fecking shop. People need to shop, babies cry, scream, tantrum, and to the person who said she should have left the shop are you a complete fool? What did you want her to do leave her shopping mid aisle?

If you don't like noise in a supermarket next time bring earplugs.

Floggingmolly · 25/06/2012 19:22

Ah, I should probably have read the whole thread Hmm

RafaprefersHobnobs · 25/06/2012 19:31

I think this thread should be deleted. It started at best as a windup at worst goading and has degenerated somewhat. I think an apology is in order at the very least for MrsTP.

Mintyy · 25/06/2012 19:55

MrGrey - if you read the fecking thread properly you will see that the fecking parent in question her was browsing round a fecking clothes shop buying a maxi dress, not doing essential fecking shopping in a fecking supermarket!

Of course the thread does not to be deleted!

The only person who owes Mrs TP an apology is the fecking idiot who pmd her.

Mintyy · 25/06/2012 19:58

And Mrs TP could have included the fact that the tantrum lasted all of 10 seconds (in which case I wouldn't define it as a tantrum) in her first post.

God Mumsnet is so fecking BANAL at times.

Don't you dare delete this thread, hq.

usualsuspect · 25/06/2012 19:59

Some people think Maxi Dresses are essential, not me though I hate the bloody things

LurkingAndLearningForNow · 25/06/2012 20:02

Mintyy haz spoken MNHQ...Hmm

Maxi dresses make everyone look pregnant, I don't know why anyone other than pregnant ladies like them.

PM TP Shock
I don't want to have to listen to kids screaming. Especially not in a restaurant. Not everyone has kids you know. The world is too child centered. Just because I have children, doesn't mean I this it is okay to subject others to their bad behaviour.

RafaprefersHobnobs · 25/06/2012 20:48

Oh minty I bow to your superior knowledge , sorry forgot it was your day to be in charge of mumsnet.

BonnieBumble · 25/06/2012 21:19

Gorakphur to Delhi. Take earplugs and don't even think about using the loo. Tickets can be purchased in Kathmandu and include a nightbus crossing from Nepal into India. Danger of pickpockets.

Bus travel in Malaysia is very swish. The buses have curtains and they play back to back Bollywood movies.

Don't do Oz Experience up the East coast of Australia unless you have a penchant for foam parties.

When catching a bus in Iceland make sure you have the correct fare because the Driver does not give change.

On Sunday's the last bus leaving the Deers Leap in Penhill, Swindon heading towards Cirencester leaves at 17:49.

You can catch the bus in Yemen but the Foreign Office are advising against all but essential travel to the country.

HTH.

AnnaMosity · 25/06/2012 21:27

Bonnie. You are The funniest on mn today.

I'm from Aus..FUCK I love foam parties! Grin (some stereotypes are true)

BrainSurgeon · 25/06/2012 21:45

Speaking of Yemen - have you seen "Salmon fishing in the Yemen"? Can't recommend it enough!

MrsTP, I'm sorry you received such a nasty pm :( you're a lovely person

AmazingBouncingFerret · 25/06/2012 21:46

Ahh yes when we used to get them in my shop I would piss the parents off by offering them a very messy chocolate lolly or one of those annoying balloons on sticks that always fall off the stick which cause the kids to then wail until the parent has retrieved the balloon and reattached it to the plstic stick...

God i love retail.
