if it was going to be shown on television every night on ??

Is it just me who would be embarrassed? I mean, I don't usually judge other people's houses, really I don't, but I don't often see such a dirty house on television.

I have asked a couple of friends if they have noticed anything unkempt about the house featured, but they honestly had not noticed before I said anything. Now they say they notice more and more things every time they watch it. Blush

So AIBU to think that of all of the houses that must have been put forward, it's a little strange of Nick Jr to think this is a typical home that a child lives in and therefore use this particular house for this interlude every night??

I totally understand an untidy house, but I feel like the only person that sees all of the dirt and clutter in this house. I'm just surprised that a tv station would choose this house. Hmm

Is there a story behind this that I don't know about? Is this one of the producers/directors houses? Hmm

I presume you are joking?

thisisyesterday · 15/06/2012 20:45

no, sorry, can't see any dirt and clutter.

do you have OCD?

you do realise it's not an actual really real house that people live in right? it's just for a tv show

Looks fine to me! In fact it's tidier/cleaner than my house at the moment!

JimmyMacWhenAreYouComingBack · 15/06/2012 20:49

Looks a lot tidier than my house Shock what exactly is the "clutter & dirt" that you see?

LentillyFart · 15/06/2012 20:49

I mean, I don't usually judge other people's houses, really I don't

Oh but I just bet you do!

I'd guess the parents are busy fretting about those disturbing brightly coloured bubbles coming out of their daughters ears - therefore no time to pick up the odd pair of shoes from the stairs.

But seriously, hope I don't know you in RL as if you think that is unkempt you would have kittens in my house...

EarnestDullard · 15/06/2012 20:51

I'm not seeing it either, can you point out specifically what you think is dirty/untidy? The only thing I can see is shoes on the stairs, which personally I would have considered a trip hazard, but otherwise the house looks fine to me.

vigglewiggle · 15/06/2012 20:52

There are a few bits on the stairs less than my house and otherwise it looks fine Confused.

manticlimactic · 15/06/2012 20:53

After watching closely, the only thing I noticed was the shoes on the stairs (nothing wrong with that) and some paint on the door handle (normal in this house) Hmm

ThePathanKhansWitch · 15/06/2012 20:54

Fook me, you'd have forty-five shitty fits if you could see my house at the moment. Thanks the Patron Saint Of Slatterns that MN doesn't have web-cam.

littlemisssarcastic · 15/06/2012 20:55

To start with, the stairs? The view from the front looking up the stairs shows dirt on every step, then when you get the side view, there's lots of filth dust bunnies at the edges. There are shoes on the stairs, coats hung on both ends, loads of clutter in the bathroom??

Might be easier to see on the tv rather than on you tube, but don't think I have OCD.

JimmyMacWhenAreYouComingBack · 15/06/2012 20:55

The TV production crew would have placed everything in those places ... probably nothing to do with the house owners themselves!

JellyBelly10 · 15/06/2012 20:55

To be fair to the OP, the stairs and landing are a bit of a mess, very cluttered etc and the bathrom sink looks like it needs a good clean. But I wonder if they have staged this especially so that it looks like a 'normal' house and not some show-home. I doubt that it got chosen and the family just couldn't be arsed to clean it! I think that every shoe and toy and item of clothing strewn around has been carefully placed there by a team of artisitic-type people!

Jenny70 · 15/06/2012 20:56

I see some shoes on the stairs, a jacket hanging up and a bathroom that is clean, but with some knick knacks on the shelf.... and this makes you ill? OMG you should lighten up.

It's not like it's a crack den with lines of cocaine etc everywhere....

JimmyMacWhenAreYouComingBack · 15/06/2012 20:56

Absolutely nothing wrong with any of those things you said! What exactly is wrong with having things in your bathroom and coats hanging on the stairs? Very weird!

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 15/06/2012 20:57

My youngest child is 9. I cannot bring myself to watch all of that without a small child around so I probably haven't seen enough to make a judgment.

But the house looks nicer on the outside than it seems to on the inside.

prettysunset · 15/06/2012 20:57

OP- I am so with you on this one! I think the very same and my Son (aged 8 and soon to be called up on his unnatural habits I am sure by a legion of Mumsnetters) has said the same!
It's the stairs really...the rest is a bit scruffy but the stairs are grim.

WheresMrMonkey · 15/06/2012 20:57

Guess your name is part of the joke??

littlemisssarcastic · 15/06/2012 20:58

Tbh, the dust/filth/dirt on the stairs is far worse than the shoes/coats/clutter imo.

Can't anyone else see it? Really?

Maybe my tv is blurred Grin

OP posts:
LentillyFart · 15/06/2012 20:58

I am so loving forty five shitty fits - trust me, it would be double that if the slightly peculiar OP could see my stairs or any other bit of my house come to that

TidyDancer · 15/06/2012 21:00

There is fuck all wrong with that family home.

I agree with Jenny70, it's hardly a bloody crack house is it?

doggiemumma · 15/06/2012 21:00

No, i dont think you have OCD either - just too much time on your hands

The house looks lovely, id love to have that house actually. The clutter makes it look lived in. I can't stand it when you go to someone's house and it looks like a show house - i like to go to peoples HOMES, where they live. Not be on edge because a cushion is out of place.
