I think I have just caught my dh lying to me...

I've changed my bname for this one, it seems pretty serious
DH went to London today for a work meeting. Said in the morning he "wouldn't be home till late, 9 or 10 pm".
"Why?" I said. "Those meetings never go on much past 5pm do they?" (is a 3 hour journey back to us, max)
"Oh, uh, no," says he, a bit flummoxed. "I suppose I'll be back more like 8ish then."
Thought no more of it. then got text at 7.50pm saying "some poor soul has jumped in front of the train, gonna be late"
Followed by "god I hate London!"
Then I rang him at 9pm and he said he was back out of London and had picked his car up at Basingstoke, and was driving home. I asked about the suicide, he said the train was sat on the rails for AGES while police investigated someone jumping under the train in front of him all this on the railway just between Waterloo and Clapham.
I begin to remember that earlier conversation this morning.
Look on the internet. No record of any such incident, delays, nothing.
Ring South West TRains, nothing happend at all...
He is still not back- what do you guys reckon??
WE have been together 8 years, 2dcs, never ever had any cause to suspect anything before...happily married...I think...

Continue to name you? I was referring to your post because it seemed a bit strange coming after one of mine seeing as I'd pretty much just joined the thread. Not sure what you have a bee in your bonnet about but I'm pretty sure it's nothing I could have said over the last two pages.

You can post on here however the hell you want and still expect some basic respect and for your life not to be treated like a cheap soap opera.

Oh so she deserves to be treated like entertainment then?

What ignorant opinion did I espouse that's so riled you?

BarredfromhavingStella · 16/06/2012 22:04

Boris I actually thought the same thing (about there being an innocent explanation & her feeling a bit silly) Hmm

Assuming that I watch shite on television. This isn't a thread about you and what you think about others' opinions; I was merely commenting on the fact that many people had invested time and effort into trying to help only for the OP to say she "couldn't reveal anything". Just makes me very Hmm.

yellowraincoat · 16/06/2012 22:10

Gosh, I've really rattled your cage, haven't I?

It's not a thread about you either but you seem to still be posting.

Whatmeworry · 16/06/2012 22:11

^Op did come back and update at about 1:15 pm, I can't copy and paste as am
on phone but she said that the opinions of vicar etc were correct or 'spot on' , I can't remover the exact words^

Meh - OP basically came on. praised the people she agreed with (ie who told her she was in the right and DH was a bastard), had a PA dig at LeQueen, and gave no new information at all.

I did rather get the impression that hooker shagging and DH's knob dripping VD were not part of the problem though.

BarredfromhavingStella · 16/06/2012 22:13

No she said that they had her situation spot on- she has worded it so you can read it a number of ways-clearly you have read it as her dh was up to no good but she didn't actually say that. She said it was by no means sorted & they had a lot of talking to do, this could mean anything......

I find it weird how this thread has kicked off when there are so many similar threads where people totally empathise with the OP.

It is also really common for other threads like this where the OP never comes back at all (like the recent one of a poster finding a secret mobile in her DH's gym bag). I spend too much time here

BarredfromhavingStella · 16/06/2012 22:30

I didn't say either of us had it correct Hmm I said clearly conclusions had been drawn from her post-but anyway, you're welcome.

Whatmeworry · 16/06/2012 23:14

So why not link us to a few threads

Funnily enough there are 2 threads on right now about misandry on MN, especially Relationships.

ShullBit · 17/06/2012 00:00

Thinking about it, I find it funny that after this thread, so many are throwing around the accusation now of mumsnet being full of man haters.

And this is coming from one who felt that the OP hasn't exactly given the full story enough throughout the thread for any strong accusations to stand against her DP. Even the latest update only really clarified what type of Masseuse card it was (which I wouldn't of been happy with myself, but if at the time I had chosen to accept his explanation, I would move on from it and not be using it against him years down the line)

I see it as the OP has a decision to make. She either trusts him, or not. And I am thinking there may be more to this if not. But what a way to live your life with someone when you can't trust them, and have certain things from the past still haunting you.

Even if it is just for your sake OP, so it is not eating away and hurting you, you need to really have this out with him until you get an explanation of which you are happy with. We don't know him from Adam, but you do and have done for quite some time so I would assume you know deep down if something isn't right, and I wouldn't just ignore if that is how you feel.

yellowraincoat · 17/06/2012 00:05

Yes 2 threads and still no one can actualy direct me to a man hating thread.

It's almost like there's no evidence.

ShullBit · 17/06/2012 00:31

Well yellowraincoat, I think Whatmeworry means at least the one thread going on AIBU at the moment started by a woman asking why everyone appears to hate men on here.

Personally, I think it is a big coincidence and am choosing to ignore said thread. I think someone has took it upon themselves to name change and try to make a point. Maybe...

yellowraincoat · 17/06/2012 00:50

Yes, I know what she meant.

But I still haven't seen anyone post any of these actual threads where posters hate men.
