do not "do gravy on a Sunady"?

Confused
OP posts:
Tee2072 · 10/06/2012 20:30

Is it against their religion?

They only have one person who can make it and that person has Sundays off?

Some other reason I can't think of?

AKissIsNotAContract · 10/06/2012 20:30

YABU to put gravy on chips

Tee2072 · 10/06/2012 20:30

Oh and YANBU but may be over reacting a little bit?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 10/06/2012 20:31

I cannot for the lif of me work it out Tee.

Sad

AKissIsNo - you need to educate your palate.

OVERREACTING?

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 10/06/2012 20:32

And I agree with AKiss.

Tomato ketchup or vinegar on chips.

Not gravy.

Tee2072 · 10/06/2012 20:32

Just a little bit.

jubilee10 · 10/06/2012 20:33

Curry sauce mmmmmmm!

ANTagony · 10/06/2012 20:34

You can get ready made gravy in the supermarket. You'll have to keep some in and microwave it for just such emergencies!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/06/2012 20:34

Have you got any bisto granules? Make your own!

By the way, gravy on chips- mmmmmm!

MoaningMajestyReignsAgain · 10/06/2012 20:35

My favourite chippy doesn't even open on Sundays Sad I get a mini fish, chips and gravy for £3.20

ChaosTrulyReigns · 10/06/2012 20:35

I have Bisto HeathenGravy on them.

But snot the same.

Sad

KitchenandJumble · 10/06/2012 20:36

Arf at "against their religion."

My sympathies, OP. A gravy-less Sunday stretches out to the crack of doom.

SoMuchToBits · 10/06/2012 20:37

You'd think they would make extra gravy on Sundays, as it's roast dinner day...

Bumblefeck · 10/06/2012 20:38

Make some gravy at home? Or find a shop open that will have bisto or something?

Chippy sauce is best on chips mmmmmm. Bought a big bottle of it back from Scotland

stubbornstains · 10/06/2012 20:38

Snot's the word if you're talking about chip shop gravy....

That's very curious. The Lord smileth not on brown slimy condiment.

emsyj · 10/06/2012 20:39

YANBU, but yes you should have had curry sauce.

squeakytoy · 10/06/2012 20:39

come and live down south.. they dont do gravy any day down here.... Angry

and the pies are shite too....

BarredfromhavingStella · 10/06/2012 20:39

Akiss you really need to try chips with Hendersons relish & gravy on-absolutely bloody gorgeous!!! Making me hungry just thinking about it.

Non of the chippys round here open on a Sunday either Sad but YANBU-slight over-reaction though........

Trills · 10/06/2012 20:39

Did you know that you can get granules of chip shop curry sauce, like Bisto?

Tee2072 · 10/06/2012 20:40

Urgh. If you put sauce on chips then they lose their crunch you insane people!!! Unless you like them burnt like I do. Then a nuclear bomb couldn't make them lose their crunch.

Tee2072 · 10/06/2012 20:41

Also, I haven't had chip shop chips in aeons. So I'm jealous.

LucieMay · 10/06/2012 20:42

YANBU. Discombobulated has to the best word EVAR!

RobinSparkles · 10/06/2012 20:43

:( Bisto gravy is NOT the same!

Did they not do curry sauce? What the hell kind of weirdo chippy is this?!

Reminds me of the Peter Kay sketch - "they don't do peas! Curry sauce? They don't do curry sauce..."

JumpingThroughHoops · 10/06/2012 20:43

Really? Its illegal for fish and chip shops to open on Sundays> it was never revoked under the reformed trading laws in 1984
