Pushed over the edge by benefit cheats!

I'm getting increasingly annoyed with my neighbours family, we're very close and have been for a long time, but they are just so loose cheeky it makes me want to do something! But at the same time I don't know if I should just mind my own!!

My neighbour has three daughters;

Daughter 'A' lives in a council property with her children and claims all her entitled benefits as a single parent. Her long term boyfriend also lives with her, and he works full time earning a lot of money. He owns his own property which they rent out to make more cash for themselves!

Daughter 'B' lives in a council property with her son and claims benefits as a single person, although her partner also lives there and works full time.

Daughter 'C' (this is what's really pissed me off today!). She is married and lives with her husband and children in their own (mortgaged) property. They both work and earn good money. She however has made a dodgy application to the council housing list and has been offered a property which they are goin to accept! They plan to sell their home!

It annoys the hell out of me that so much money is being fraudulently claimed, and that it is clearly so easy to do. I really want to dob the cheeky bastards in, although am abit scared they'll find out it was me! And don't know if I should just mind my own beeswax!

Is EVERYONE on this thread taking the p or just some?
My head hurts...
I'm not casting aspersions, mind you. Last time I did that it was like a bloody public flogging!

AutumnSummers · 09/04/2012 16:31

Guess I'll have to settle for implants while the kids eat ASDA's own beans and bread. I have to treat them. It IS Easter after all.

Glitterknickaz · 09/04/2012 16:31

Bringing DLA into this is vile....

IamTheSandInYourVagina · 09/04/2012 16:32

1.7 billion lost to fraud. 2-3 percent of all claimants.

20 billion goes unclaimed.

Educate yourself before spouting shite on the Internet, or you might find that you'll end up looking like an ignorant meathead

Originalplurker · 09/04/2012 16:32

Make the call, the robbing bastards

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 16:32

There are loads like that being given away autumn. Just pretend you have some more children, or look a bit forrin

I think that helps.

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/04/2012 16:32

I turned that house down Catgirl, there was no room for my goat.

MrsDeeBee · 09/04/2012 16:33

Julia

Not a commie !

Would you rather have a bottle and a straw ? Smile

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 16:33

I wouldn't be able to fit my 1000000000000000inch plasma in that house

TreacleSoda · 09/04/2012 16:33

I don't believe for a second that the OP knows the ins and outs of her neighbours finances, and I hate the demonising of benefit claimants.

But on the other hand, benefit fraud does exist. I have seen it first hand with a close relative, whose finances I do know the ins and outs of, because I have helped her with her household budget. If she is capable of claiming fraudulently, then it would be naive of me to believe that other people do not do the same. I have not reported her for the simple reason that if she were prosecuted and imprisoned, her children would most likely end up in care. Not only would this not be good for her, but it would cost the state much more money than her benefit fraud costs in the first place.

I think that our anger should be directed towards those who commit fraud, rather than those who are annoyed by those committing it, if you know what I mean.

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 16:33

Once, I went to the JobCentre and it was really embarassing as they kept trying to give me loads of money and a house.

It took ages to explain I was just putting up a poster for my lost cat!

What are they like?

TreacleSoda · 09/04/2012 16:34

I meant not be good for her children, not that it wouldn't be good for her (although obviously it wouldn't be good for her either).

ABatInBunkFive · 09/04/2012 16:34

yy to looking forrin Don't tell them about your goat though and you may get another one.

but i'm confuddled are the forriners over here stealing our jobs or are the all sitting on their arses claiming benefits we can't? i forget.

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 16:35

You only have to walk past the job centre , and out they run to give you free money.

insancerre · 09/04/2012 16:35

They all have bigger tvs than me.

Originalplurker · 09/04/2012 16:35

I wonder lady how much you getting for your angora goat cushions...

Glitterknickaz · 09/04/2012 16:36

Ok. Because I know someone who belongs to x religion I know that all x's are lying, cheating scum.

That's ok isn't it? It's acceptable to make sweeping generalisations about whole swathes of society isn't it?

Of course it is because I have FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE that all x's are lying, cheating scum.

My brother's auntie's cat's hamster is doing it.

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 16:36

lady - I read that as you had burned down that house rather than turned it down. Either would be fair though. It hasn't even got a pool

Feckers

MissGreatBritain · 09/04/2012 16:38

I have to say I don't think it's those people that report those claiming fraudulently, but those actually committing the offence who have caused the current benefit cuts. I'm all for the welfare state; it's there to help those who need it, but when people blatantly take the piss then it's not fair on anyone.

I know lots of people who claim benefits, while working cash in hand on the side. To my mind, that's just taking money out of the pockets of others who really need it.

StarlightMcEggsie · 09/04/2012 16:40

I don't think people should actually get houses tbh.

I think they should just be given some vouchers that enable them to buy 20% less of enough wood equal to the size of the coffin they would need, per person in their family, and other vouchers to buy 30% less than just enough space in a field to lie down with it.

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/04/2012 16:40

It's also got a big HOVIS sign in the kitchen, why is that.
It's got a moat though, I didn't want to risk my disabled goat falling in.

Glitterknickaz · 09/04/2012 16:40

See this confuses me.
How do so many people know the ins and outs of a duck's arse regarding people's personal finances?

IamTheSandInYourVagina · 09/04/2012 16:40

Exactly glitter. That's why I find myself pondering the whole "goading" part of the rules. Surely some of this bullshit could be considered goading?

And - on a slight tangent - surely that "goading" rule could be applied to those writing disablist posts and using disablist language?

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 16:41

I have to say I don't think it's those people that report those claiming fraudulently, but those actually committing the offence who have caused the current benefit cuts.

No. It was the Tories.

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 16:42

If it did fall in you could sue though Lady

Get goat compo. Everyone's doing it
