Pushed over the edge by benefit cheats!

I'm getting increasingly annoyed with my neighbours family, we're very close and have been for a long time, but they are just so loose cheeky it makes me want to do something! But at the same time I don't know if I should just mind my own!!

My neighbour has three daughters;

Daughter 'A' lives in a council property with her children and claims all her entitled benefits as a single parent. Her long term boyfriend also lives with her, and he works full time earning a lot of money. He owns his own property which they rent out to make more cash for themselves!

Daughter 'B' lives in a council property with her son and claims benefits as a single person, although her partner also lives there and works full time.

Daughter 'C' (this is what's really pissed me off today!). She is married and lives with her husband and children in their own (mortgaged) property. They both work and earn good money. She however has made a dodgy application to the council housing list and has been offered a property which they are goin to accept! They plan to sell their home!

It annoys the hell out of me that so much money is being fraudulently claimed, and that it is clearly so easy to do. I really want to dob the cheeky bastards in, although am abit scared they'll find out it was me! And don't know if I should just mind my own beeswax!

I suspect a lot of hardworkingtaxpayers have jobs done for cash.

No big campaigner to report tax dodgers though.

Originalplurker · 09/04/2012 20:16

posie encouraging people to inform is part of a process that seeks to achieve fair and equitable assistance to those who need it not those who are stealing from the state where is your sense of justice.

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 20:18

MissMogwi, exactly.

Men could help fix a lot by shelling out a fair amnount on their DCs after they've fucked off.

This country could focus a bit more fiscal ire on men and a little less so excitedly on women, after relationships breakups.

CrystalMaize · 09/04/2012 20:18

Precisely, plurker.

Likewise usual.

A lot of people think they "may" know benefits cheats. The media ensures that we are encouraged to report them.

Anyone know a tax evader?

5inthebed · 09/04/2012 20:20

Snort at "Leg it, it's the Fuzz"

I once knew someone who was a benefit cheat. She had three kids to five different dads and worked cash in hand as a cleaner at a strip club while her kids scrubbed the toilets. She had two goats as well, greedy cow.

CrystalMaize · 09/04/2012 20:20

Good point Linerunner

DioneTheDiabolist · 09/04/2012 20:22

Trolls eat goats.[bushock]

Originalplurker · 09/04/2012 20:23

crystal but if I had evidence then I would inform.

I assume that if you report someone the staff are trained to ask certain questions, it is then up to them whether they take it further.

there is a pot of money, some steal from it, some don't pay in this applies to claimants, would be tax payers inc large organisations.

Originalplurker · 09/04/2012 20:24

Trolls can also find anothe bridge to hide under.

PerryCombover · 09/04/2012 20:26

I'd like to inform on all of you for paying cash in hand to a worker
For being paid cash in hand
For taking illegal drugs
For passing illegal drugs to a friend
For speeding
Pretending to be ill when you are hungover or can't be arsed

We aren't in trouble because of the benefit system or benefit fraud
We are in trouble because we have accepted a skewed version of what the govt is doing and why.
Whilst we spy on each other and moan and bitch about people eeking an existence we are wasting time we could spend doing something useful

Holier than thou pronouncements about fraud being fraud boil my piss

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 20:28

Excellent post, PerryCombover

Nothing more to add

ABatInBunkFive · 09/04/2012 20:28

Well we took it up the arse when the government were caught frauding, what happened with that oh yeah, not a lot.

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 20:29

Are you spying on me Perry?

ShirleyKnot · 09/04/2012 20:29

Well.

When I finally went to the CSA to try and winkle some money out of my x, he hadn't submitted any tax returns (self employed) for the last few years.

The CSA go to HMRC to find out the tax returns in order to make a decision on how much they should pay. When I asked the CSA what would happen now that HMRC were aware that he hadn't submitted any taxes and isn't paying via the PAYE scheme AND isn't claiming benefits - they said "nothing will happen"

There's no joined up thinking. Just imagine how much money they could rake back into the tax system by just having a bit more of a joined up approach!

Anniegetyourgun · 09/04/2012 20:30

Apart from the speeding, which wasn't intentional (downhill, following wind, not watching speedo), I haven't committed any of those. I even declared babysitting for taxes fgs. (Yes, I really am that boring.) Enough with the "holier than thou" jibe please.

Anniegetyourgun · 09/04/2012 20:31

... but, I do take your point. People are very quick to sneer at what the other fellow does while justifying their own dodges.

ShirleyKnot · 09/04/2012 20:32

I cross posted with Perry and Bat.

Yeah, never mind when all the MPs got caught with their hand in the till.

It reminds me so much of the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz.

"take no notice of the man behind the curtain!"

tethersend · 09/04/2012 20:37

Me too, Annie.

Although there was the genocide...

Originalplurker · 09/04/2012 20:37

shkrley the exact same thing happened to my friend re CSA and HMRC, he was swanning around in v v expensive cars etc while she struggled to bring up three children. So these people who say don't report maybe could explain to people like this how best to cope.

If someone had reported them to tax then CSA could get the relevant info as they would be forced to submit a tax return.

ShirleyKnot · 09/04/2012 20:41

Well, I'm not in favour of reporting because you can never really know what's going on as far as benefit entitlements are concerned, so it's a different issue for me.

Me going to the CSA who then discover that he's not paying tax isn't the same as me going online and reporting him to HMRC for tax evasion.

DYKWIM?

Anniegetyourgun · 09/04/2012 20:44

Oh, genocide, that's nothing, we're talking about serious crimes here. That is, ones with money in. People are cheap.

heatherhopper · 13/05/2012 20:28

its not about people that are innocent if you actually read the thread!!!!!!!
