Pushed over the edge by benefit cheats!

I'm getting increasingly annoyed with my neighbours family, we're very close and have been for a long time, but they are just so loose cheeky it makes me want to do something! But at the same time I don't know if I should just mind my own!!

My neighbour has three daughters;

Daughter 'A' lives in a council property with her children and claims all her entitled benefits as a single parent. Her long term boyfriend also lives with her, and he works full time earning a lot of money. He owns his own property which they rent out to make more cash for themselves!

Daughter 'B' lives in a council property with her son and claims benefits as a single person, although her partner also lives there and works full time.

Daughter 'C' (this is what's really pissed me off today!). She is married and lives with her husband and children in their own (mortgaged) property. They both work and earn good money. She however has made a dodgy application to the council housing list and has been offered a property which they are goin to accept! They plan to sell their home!

It annoys the hell out of me that so much money is being fraudulently claimed, and that it is clearly so easy to do. I really want to dob the cheeky bastards in, although am abit scared they'll find out it was me! And don't know if I should just mind my own beeswax!

I don't understand how you can know so much about people's finances.

Anyone can apply for a council house, why don't you try if you are so jealous?

2shoeskickedtheeasterbunny · 09/04/2012 16:13

what Glitterknickaz said

AutumnSummers · 09/04/2012 16:14

And, miraculously, OP vanishes. With the goats.

Voidka · 09/04/2012 16:14

How do you know so much about your neighbours?

JuliaScurr · 09/04/2012 16:14

Pablop demonising claimants has made the Condems' job of destroying the Welfare State much easier
Benefit fraud is immoral but miniscule compared to tax avoidance/evasion

BonnieBumble · 09/04/2012 16:15

Any person can apply for a council house but if the situation is as the OP describes they won't have a hope of getting one.

I actually think the OP is made up but if not the OP should report them.

Kayano · 09/04/2012 16:15

Don't think the op mentioned dla or disabilities confused

Think you should mind your own.

Anyone can apply for a council house. They may be crippled by debt and about to lose their home unless they sell it. shrug

MN bingo anyone?

IamTheSandInYourVagina · 09/04/2012 16:16

No trolling, goading or misleading

This is part of the MN rules. I wonder about the "goading" part.

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 16:16

Nice try OP

1/10

StarlightMcEggsie · 09/04/2012 16:16

FWIW, I don't believe a word of the OP!

Pablop · 09/04/2012 16:16

Agree JosephineCD, I see injustice everyday, my elderly in-laws having to put up with visits to see if there severely disabled daughter is really disabled, my friend who's husband has left her and still not getting the benefits she is entitled to. If people did not commit benefit fraud then maybe there would a whole lot more money to go round for those genuine claimants.

ABatInBunkFive · 09/04/2012 16:17

Everyone knows someones who's on the fiddle, except they never really know quite enough to do anything about it, my DH was investigated while on JSA because he had been informed on, funnily enough there was nothing untoward going on, just a lot of chinese whispers and jealousy, so sad.

Caused us no end of difficulty though, so don't let actual fact get in the way of rightious indignation.

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 16:18

You keep on believing that, Pablop

MrsDeeBee · 09/04/2012 16:18

Julia

Good points.

Funny how it's easier to go after 'people' rather than companies...

I just love the attitude too that people assume that hardship of some description could not possibly happen to them, and that they may one day find themselves in receipt of benefits.

Glitterknickaz · 09/04/2012 16:19

Bingo. Why the fuck should people on benefits be demonised due to the actions of a minority?

If the same sentiments were applied to people on the basis of their race, religion or sex it'd be hate speech.

Sadly disablism is completely acceptable. So is benefit bashing.

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 16:19

It was good OP, but it's not really taking off.

I think you need to be more inflammatory. I'll help.

I know your neighbours. They are off to Aruba next week aren't they? For 3 weeks in a private beachfront villa, which is being padi for entirely by our taxes. And they are taking the children out of school to go on it. Although to be fair, they can catch up using the Ipads you and I bought them out of our good, honest hard working peoples taxes.

There............

lagoonhaze · 09/04/2012 16:20

If more people reported benefit fraudsters maybe the reforms would be less harsh.

If less people turned a blind eye to blantant fraud and the courts were harsher there would be more of a detterant to dodge the rules and therefore more money in the benefits pot.

I hate the way this government is attacking the system and hurting the vulnerable but it's fraudsters and those with a sense of entitlement that have made the spending so vast.

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 16:20

Oooh ooh and they have a motability car, but its a Bugatti and they never ever use it for anything worthy, they just go shopping for bling in it.

PosiePaques · 09/04/2012 16:20

Anyone that owns their own home that chooses to sell up and live in an HA housing is barking or broke.

Benefit cheats are never rich they are just not as poor as other benefit claimants, what they receive is a drop in the ocean in comparison to the fuck up of the banks.

As much as I try I can't summon any hatred for people who get a little more than they're entitled from the state, show me a tax avoider and you have my goat!

Glitterknickaz · 09/04/2012 16:20

Having a good wank yet, OP?

Softlysoftly · 09/04/2012 16:21

Tax avoidance is not illegal and they still pay bucket loads of tax to support the welfare system.

Tax evasion is illegal and they should be prosecuted/jailed.

Benefit fraud should be reported and they should be prosecuted/jailed.

Genuine benefit claimants should support keeping high tax payers in the country and prosecuting cheats on both ends of the financial scale so that there is more money to go around.

This is going to be a bun fight.

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 16:21

oh a 'sense of entitlement' there

Glitterknickaz · 09/04/2012 16:21

ooh sense of entitlement, yes because I bred my kids disabled to make a career from it..... dontcha know
