Hmmm, I'm going to sit firmly on the fence.
I loved Friends. Had all the boxsets on DVD, watched them over and over. They got me through maternity leave and many many hours when I was parked on the sofa BFing one of my DC. However, a couple of years ago, in an urge to clear some clutter I decided I'd seen them too many times and sold them at a carboot, £25 for the complete set. I slightly regret it now.
However BBT is my new favourite. I love it. It really resonates with me as I married a nerd, and my DS1 is a mini Sheldon. He says exactly the same sort of things, is socially awkward in the same ways, doesn't understand his peers because he's too blimmin intelligent for his own good etc... (He does have Aspergers Syndrome). BBT makes me laugh out loud, even when I'm on my own. BBT also seems more realistic to me. As much as it entertained me, the Friends set-up just seemed highly unlikely.
On second thoughts, I'm not on the fence - I prefer BBT - I never was, and never will be one of the popular, pretty people. I can relate to BBT far more easily
