I keep putting classic 80s films on only to find out that she's never seen them! [bushock]

Today's film is the karate kid, a masterpiece and essential viewing for anyone of my generation. It's so good that they remade it for this generation to enjoy!

DW has also missed out on the gremlins films! They're brilliant, but she was tragically deprived of them for multiple Christmases [busad]

I think her parents acted cruelly and have denied her her heritage as a child of the 80s.

Just thought of another great one...

Escape to victory!

It's sly Stallone, Michael caine and the best footballers available (pelé!) doing the great escape! With football!

Does anyone else remember Once Bitten? It starred a very young Jim Carrey who was being stalked by an older, female vampire. He ended up having sex with his girlfriend in a coffin because the vampire was only interested in virgins

Aaaah... reminiscing massively. Was going to say Princess Bride and Splash, but just wanted to share amusing visual quote by my 4mo DD; my best mate and I have an entire language based on film quotes, of which Ghostbusters is a cornerstone, and we always crack up when Slimer gets blasted around the chandelier and does this little arm waggle with a fast in-and-out breath. This is exactly what DD did to me the other day; it was brilliant.

"I'm gonna take a shower..."
"It would be bad."

CaveMum you rock :o "He saved Dannnniiiel!!! In the lion's dennn....ah!"

Period faves - The Scarlet Pimpernel, Dangerous Liaisons, Amadeus.

Have just recalled;

White men can't jump
Ruthless people
Falling down

May have to do some dvd shopping...

I was born in 1983 i have not seen any of these films! My dh is always amazed and has recently started forcing old childrens programmes on our children. They have recently watched "thundercats" which i had never even nheard of and turtles which i had heard of but not really seen.
I had oddly strict parents when it came to films and tv i wasnt allowed to watch simpsons until i was 15 but strangley i WAS at the age of 15 allowed my boyfriend to stay the night so nt really sure what i was being shielded from tbh!

The Outsiders! Forgot all about that one, watched it til the video fell apart, still have the very well read paperback. In fact all S.E. Hinton's books were good.

Annie!

It's a hard knock life for us...

I also watched Splash about 20 times.

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 10/04/2012 00:51

Sat up with an ill ds and there are no 80s films on! Why do the tv gods mock me so!?!
