The one from Fathers4Justice, where they accuse MN of:

"carrying abusive and distressing anti-male content which promotes gender hatred against men and boys"
and, apparently, labels "men and boys as rapist, peados and wife beaters."

The ad has a lovely picture of a sad little boy with words like "rioter" and "homeless" and "sperm bank" written on his skin.

I am confused, as I have never come across a thread on here where people routinely call men paedophiles and rapists. In fact, usually, if someone implies that a man being left alone with a child is dodgy, posters will pile in and say "God, don't you know not all men are paedos.?"

As I understand it, this is a forum for discussion, not a political movement with a manifesto. There are many and varied opinions on MN, and the minute one opinion is aired, another will be along to refute it.

Or should I just laugh at F4J? The ad is quite gruesomely funny.

YY QLB. I forgot to explain that in my post above, it's just the one office.

SigmundeFraud, so you know all feminists do you? We have a hive mind...

SigmundFraude · 17/03/2012 18:05

'SigmundeFraud, so you know all feminists do you?'

No, why?

Nyac · 17/03/2012 18:06

Are you saying the following aren't true Sigmunde:

There is mass rape of women and girls going on in the Congo and Darfur.

There are 100 million girls and women missing from the populations of India and China because of foeticide, infanticide and neglect.

Afghan girls and girls in other parts of the middle east getting married off at ten to adult men.

One in four women raped or sexually assaulted in her lifetime in this country

One in seven women dying in childbirth in Niger

Most of the world's power in the hands of men.

Which one do you take isssue with exactly?

Which is conjecture or personal opinion?

Nyac · 17/03/2012 18:07

I've got factual back up for everything I've said there.

It's not about asking two women what biscuits they like, it's about harm and destruction on a massive scale being committed by men against women and girls.

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 17/03/2012 18:09

Because of this, Sigmund.

'Feminists will often say that the sky is always blue'

I think I'm just bored of some people on MN who treat feminists like some kind of monolithic group with no individual opinions. That's how your comment came across to me.

droves · 17/03/2012 18:09

Matt o C stripped infront of m&s ?

So ...naked in public , where children could be is what he thinks will get him more access to his children

I didnt know public indecency was good parenting practice !

PMSL.

Hes probably just got himself on some register now, daft man that he is.

SardineQueen · 17/03/2012 18:15

I am also interested to know which of the things in that list is not true/misleading, an opinion or conjecture.

quicklookbusy thank you for clearing that up about the CAB, that is extremely useful to know - and for any posters or lurkers who might have been led to believe incorrectly that CAB would not be able to help them.

So there are some lies and damn lies on this thread after all. But it aint nyac's statistics.

SigmundFraude · 17/03/2012 18:19

Hello Nyac.

I'm not saying that these things don't happen. I am saying that you have taken the statistics as fact. That is where conjecture and personal opinion come in. You seem to want to believe that these statistics are facts, this is your personal opinion. Your personal opinions on this matter is conjecture.

There is no way of knowing exactly how many girls are missing in India or China for example, it is an estimate, it could be even more, or it could be less. This is not the same as saying it doesn't happen or that it isn't horrific, which is what people seem to think I'm saying.

SigmundFraude · 17/03/2012 18:21

'That's how your comment came across to me.'

Well, this is the internet, and I have no control over how people interpret my comments.

SardineQueen · 17/03/2012 18:22

"There is mass rape of women and girls going on in the Congo and Darfur."

This is a fact.

"There are 100 million girls and women missing from the populations of India and China because of foeticide, infanticide and neglect."

This is a fact.

Where is the doubt that these things are true. Please can you explain.

SardineQueen · 17/03/2012 18:23

Oh you are fucking kidding me.

You look at this

"There are 100 million girls and women missing from the populations of India and China because of foeticide, infanticide and neglect."

And think "well that's fucking stupid, it could be 100million and one. What a load of bollocks" and discard it as opinion, conjecture and lies.

You don't have a very good grasp of maths and statistics, do you.

SigmundFraude · 17/03/2012 18:24

Your first comment is a fact. Your second comment is an estimate.

SardineQueen · 17/03/2012 18:25

"Afghan girls and girls in other parts of the middle east getting married off at ten to adult men."

Are you disputing that this is a fact?

"There is mass rape of women and girls going on in the Congo and Darfur."

Are you disputing that this is a fact?

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 17/03/2012 18:25

So is that what you meant or not, SF?

SardineQueen · 17/03/2012 18:26

What?

You said nyacs list was not factual, was opinion and conjecture.

SigmundFraude · 17/03/2012 18:28

Ok. For the pernickity amongst you. Certain aspects of Nyac's posts were etc...

SigmundFraude · 17/03/2012 18:29

'So is that what you meant or not, SF?'

Is what what I meant or not?

googlyeyes · 17/03/2012 18:29

F4J are viciously misogynistic. Everything is the fault of the scheming wimmin

We rarely hear their wimmin's side of the story, and when we do it's not a pretty picture

As posie said upthread they would do so much more for their cause by attacking their fellow men who do so much to denigrate the notion of fatherhood. The ones (and there are so many) who abandon their children, cheat, fight against paying maintenance, treat the women in their lives like dirt etc

Ime there are many, many more mothers who are desperately trying to get unwilling dads to maintain contact with their kids (especially if they've run off and started a new family) than there are mothers plotting to keep the dads away.

The focus is so tragically wrong. Slating their children's mothers is not going to get them the ending they want

runningforthebusinheels · 17/03/2012 18:29

Sigmund, the 100million figure is perfectly valid, even if it's an estimate, it is based on all the available facts. It's not opinion or conjecture.

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 17/03/2012 18:31

Fuxache, SF, are you being deliberately obtuse? I'll take that as a yes and leave you to bicker over figures.

TheCrackFox · 17/03/2012 18:33

Did I read that right? Matt o'connor was flashing outside of m&s?? Probably where lots of children were. Hmm, not looking good for F4j now is it!

SigmundFraude · 17/03/2012 18:33

I'm simply not sure what you're saying Onesunny. Sorry.

Nyac · 17/03/2012 18:35

"There is no way of knowing exactly how many girls are missing in India or China for example, it is an estimate, it could be even more, or it could be less. This is not the same as saying it doesn't happen or that it isn't horrific, which is what people seem to think I'm saying."

Are you seriously arguing about the incredibly specific numbers when overall the point is true Sigmunde?

In case you've forgotten I asked you for comparable events which would demonstrate this "misandry" that some women are supposed to be suffering from towards men.

I mean somewhere there must be 100 million missing men and boys give or take a few because matriarchal society ensures their systematic annhilation. You're saying it exists. Give us the examples. I won't take issue with your use of statistics.

I guess you must argue about the Holocaust too - "well you don't know exactly how many jewish people were murdered so six million is just opinion and conjecture, not fact".
