seems so joyless and anti sex.

I feel very conflicted now. I always thought feminism was about equality for women, which I dont believe we have, but it seems to re\lly be focusing on the wrong issues for me, and getting too much into dynamics of personal relationships, and peoples sexual preferences

im probably being unreasonable

SirGin - didn't you used to be on the Radisher threads?

I'm not sure if I have you mixed up with a different poster?

HesterBurnitall · 12/03/2012 16:10

Dinah, did it not give you pause for thought that the op of that particular thread openly welcomed the analysis and political discussion around prostitution, engaged with it and thanked posters for it? Maybe it was partly being wrong in that instance that made you feel uncomfortable.

PlumpDogPillionaire · 12/03/2012 16:11

Eh, Posie? You've lost me there, love.

PosiePumblechook · 12/03/2012 16:11

Why jobless?

seeker · 12/03/2012 16:12

Sorry. What on earth does this mean?

"I've given you examples in the past seeker.

You also started an anti-religeon thread recently where you were told you were known for stiring things up.

It's personalty that is the issue, not ideology.

Not much else to be said.

I'm off too to frolick in the meadows.

Have a great day everyone."

PlumpDogPillionaire · 12/03/2012 16:14

See TheBigJessie's post re. 'joy/joyous', etc. - and, erm, the OP's slight confusion with, um, words.

TheBigJessie · 12/03/2012 16:15

So, we get drip-fed a clarification that changes everything, and then no further clarification?

Well, I feel joyless now.

PosiePumblechook · 12/03/2012 16:16

Sorry I was thinking that you may be another MN hater who comes on here just to say we're all jobless!!! GrinWink and Blush

PlumpDogPillionaire · 12/03/2012 16:18

Oh, don't be joyless, Jessie. There is real comedy to be found on this thread, I assure you.
I guess OP is lying in a dark room with a cold flannel on face (so many words! So little joy! All so very confusing!) but surely will be back before the 1000th post to enlighten you.

PlumpDogPillionaire · 12/03/2012 16:21

Grin Posie.
there you go, BigJessie, 'tis like a French farce on this thread.

blackcurrants · 12/03/2012 16:23

Slightly OT but as a feminist I assure you that I am neither anti-joy nor anti-sex. In fact, I am multi-tasking at present by joyfully copulating while typing here and editing "The Feminine Mystique".

Well, it's Betty Friedan's insights into the limitations of 1950s gender roles. Gets me going every time. Grin

TheBigJessie · 12/03/2012 16:36

Another tangent: If the SWP had had forums, do you think posters would have complained they were joyless?

Do you think anyone reads through Lib-Dem forums and says they're joyless? What about anti-racist forums?

I deserve to be told!

lesley33 · 12/03/2012 16:39

Yes the SWP forums would have been joyless. After all their bloody meetings were.

blackcurrants · 12/03/2012 16:46

NO, TheBig, you don't get explanations!

GO BE JOYFUL!

LeBOF · 12/03/2012 16:54

I had a lot of joy in the SWP. And a lot of sex.p

PurpleRomanesco · 12/03/2012 17:04

Never!!

MoreSpamThanGlam · 12/03/2012 17:06

The point of feminism is to enable women, like men, to enjoy a difference of opinion. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, but on the feminist board ya have to back it up....or get intellectually given a going over. I can hold my own sometimes, but sometimes it is just a feeling about what i believe and it may be because the patriarchal society has got to me...or it may not.

I dunno, just feels like you show the slightest sign of weakness and POW! You are gobbled up. Ah well Grin

PurpleRomanesco · 12/03/2012 17:07

You all need JOY damn it!

AnyFucker · 12/03/2012 17:09

I went to school with a girl called Joy

she was the most miserable person you could ever meet

she was probably pissed off with people saying "not much like your name are you ?", mind

PurpleRomanesco · 12/03/2012 17:15

Joyless Joy. :(

Are you Joyless AF?
