I've never been over there, but am curious. It seems to get a fair bit of withering comment from users here. - 'you should put that on netmums' in response to a particularly inane or bigotted comment.

It is sometimes referred to as Nethuns - is that because they are a bit Nazi in their views?

The similar names amuse me though - it is like the Judean People's Front and the People's Front of Judea in the Life of Brian

*The5thFishy - i have been away from mnet a while, back about a month - ive actively looked for bumsex threads but not found any Sad I figured it had been "done to death" a bit like bum sex in our house, it was exciting and cutting edge when i thought it were just me tht did it, but now i know its the standard activity of the middle class mummy it rather lost its edge Grin

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 16:27

There was a bumsex thread on Friday just gone Grin

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 16:28

Op posted asking advice for a "friend"

Goawaybob · 11/03/2012 16:32

ahh, gutted - although if too much of that goes on, MN will need to have a new category dedicated to incontinence! Shock

Where'd my amusing link go? Confused

PeahenTailFeathers · 11/03/2012 18:15

I went to see what it was like on Netmums last week because I'd heard so much about it on here.
Oh the horror! Oh the humanity!
I'm hoping the nightmares about all the sparkly emoticons and the relentless "hunnies" will stop soon. At least I'm not rocking in the corner anymore.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 11/03/2012 18:26

I havent been on Nuthuns for ages but have recently gone back for a look because I am avoiding studying.

I feel I am a bit of an expert on this subject because I was a prolific poster for years before the Great Banning Incident of 2011.

The level of debate on NMs is basic. There are some intelligent, deep thinking women on there but if they stick their head above the parapet they are beaten into submission with a stick made of pure, distilled passive agression.

Going on NMs is like allowing the Sun into your living room (I mean the print version, not the solar one).

It is a mix of outraged sensibilities and smut.

If you object to people going out in their PJs you are a 'snob'. If you think people shouldnt hang their children out of the window by their ankles you think you are a 'perfect mommy'.

But if someone is unfortunate enough to die of an overdose they are 'discusting' (sic) and not worthy of pity because they are not a/Baby P or b/a soldier.

They seem to have a reputation for being nicer than MN but in reality it is far bitchier and far nastier on there than I have ever seen it on here.

You will be deleted for being 'unsupportive'. This can mean anything from saying 'get a grip' to questioning whether someone should indeed be hanging their child out of a window by their ankles.

BUT it has an 'ignore poster' button. This is brilliant.

There are some great people there but tbh, having revisited it, I dont think I am going to bother.

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 18:45

What is the Great Banning Incident of 2011?

Mrbojangles1 · 11/03/2012 18:52

People speak their mind on here on the other sight you get tea a sympathy

Also on the other site you are not allowed to have a diffrent view from the party line
(saying that it's getting a bit like that on here sometimes I feel like its labours party site)

Also their seems to be a lot of social worker bashing a lot of mums whom have had children removed waxing lyrical about the devil social workers

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 11/03/2012 19:16

Just me over dramatizing lesley. I got banned for being sarky and misuse of the ignore poster button.

It was worth it. Grin

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 19:17

Another poster said last night they got banned for 2 weeks for saying jog on!

crazynanna · 11/03/2012 19:20

That was me Lesley!!

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 19:21

Well done!

Goawaybob · 11/03/2012 19:36

Im actually struggling not to go over there and see how long it takes to get myself banned

Goawaybob · 11/03/2012 19:37

Has anyone ever been banned from mnet?

JustHecate · 11/03/2012 19:39

Oh yes. Many people have been banned.

Lots of people who join up to troll get booted off.

But also some actual posters. Not many though. And they really have to pull some serious shit!

crazynanna · 11/03/2012 19:40

I think there's a poster over there that says she was banned from over here

ooohhh...am I not supposed to say that?

crashdoll · 12/03/2012 15:38

I don't get the whole "your child, your choice" thing. If I said "I don't fancy getting out of my bed today as I am a massively hungover. Do you think it would be ok to let my 2 yr old do whatever s/he likes while I chill in bed?" would they trot out the same answer? I don't have a child, so no fear, I would not do this. Wink

As a SW said in another thread where your child your rules was being discussed; if only she had known this rule then she and her colleagues could have just sat around their office all day drinking coffee.

Heleninahandcart · 12/03/2012 18:46

lolajane2009 · 12/03/2012 18:49
