AIBU to wonder what the diffetence is between Mumsnet & Netmums is?

I've never been over there, but am curious. It seems to get a fair bit of withering comment from users here. - 'you should put that on netmums' in response to a particularly inane or bigotted comment.

It is sometimes referred to as Nethuns - is that because they are a bit Nazi in their views?

The similar names amuse me though - it is like the Judean People's Front and the People's Front of Judea in the Life of Brian

ComposHat · 11/03/2012 01:24

Cheers Cutted

Sorry, forgot myself for a sec, what I meant to say was: 'thnx huni! Your gawjuss bubba is soooo lucky to have you as their mummy.'

Astonishing, I've never seen so much drivel and so little punctuation.

Please tell me that it wasn't real and is actually an elaborate piss take.

"...your child, so its up to you. My eldest watched a horror movie about a guy who removes his victims eye, he wasnt bothered by it. He watches the WWE wrestling on sky sports every saturday morning. He also loves watching the BIg Bang Theory, and if I'm watching the Vampire Diaries after school on a wednesday he will say Mum is that the vampire diaries you are watching? We sat and watched x factor together as well when it was on. When he was 2 he sat and watched a zombie film with his dada and uncle, and his only comment was 'that man is eating that other mans leg, he must be hungry' and 'look at the mess they are making. Daddy will their mummy make them hoover it all up?'

According to tickers the child is aged 5 years 8 months and somethingy days. So that's okay then.

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 01:28

It does read like a piss take. But there are some sensible posterson the thread as well. tbh though you can find "crazy" threads on here as well.

Pocketsocks · 11/03/2012 01:36

I couldn't read the whole thread. I was Shock from the get go. Crikey

ComposHat · 11/03/2012 01:41

'your child, your rules' seems to be a bit on a mantra on there.

If only I knew about this little heard of piece of legislation when I worked for social services, instead of all that dull stuff about child protection. When in fact all we needed to know was 'your child, your rules'

We could have let folks get on with the business of neglecting and abusing their kids, whilst we sat around playing minesweeper and drinking coffee.

Is that thread serious?

True Blood for a 6 year old is inappropriate.

inatrance · 11/03/2012 02:01

I'd love to read the answers in AIBU to that exact thread... Confused

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 02:11

Just been reading other threads. There are some intelligent posters. But one poster has just been told she is rude for saying to another poster that she shouldn't benefit bash! A selectio from her post is below.

"Having sly digs at someone who receives DLA and is going on holiday isn't really fair, considering that lady isn't even here to defend herself. Please don't let this thread turn into a benefit bash because we are ALL struggling."

It is certainly much more gentle there. Can't imagine the reaction if some of the aibu posts were posted over there. I guess the posters would just be banned. But I can see the gentle approach would suit some

catgirl1976 · 11/03/2012 08:18

We're not the Judean People's Front..........

Nethuns does sound rather horrid though :)

CuttedUpPear · 11/03/2012 08:19

inatrance I quite fancy posting the TV thread in AIBU but fear I would be outed as a troll if I did!
It's scary isn't it. This is the way the other half lives
(please, dear deity, let it not be a full half, just maybe 5%?)

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 08:22

I know what you mean it is tempting? You could post it honestly and say you had read it somewhere else and were curious to know what people thought?

catgirl1976 · 11/03/2012 08:25

Shock have just been on the thread linked to

Have never been on NM before

Is that actually real?????????? Shock

OriginalJamie · 11/03/2012 08:26

I lurked on there for a while when I was attempting to wean off MN

Yes, the tickers are really annoying
Yes there are more intellectually challenged people on there
The censorship is ridiculous: "she was a right itch"

But, I do like the fact that they have peer counsellors on there. That seems supportive to me

lesley33 · 11/03/2012 08:29

From looking at it does seem more supportive. But I think here is more fun.

OriginalJamie · 11/03/2012 08:30

Yes, here is more fun. Sharper
