To think if you bring tzatziki and crue de te to a supper club...

We have a supper club once a month and this week one lady turned up with tzatziki and crue de te.
On entry she proudly announced she had "home made tzatziki and crue de te"

"ooooh crue de te" I said "that sounds exciting. Whats that"

bits of raw fu@@ing veg. I mean come off it you do not turn up to a supper club with that do you?
Put some effort into it woman. I made falafal and an aubergine dish from Rick stein (forget what its called but it has a funny smelly cheese and tomato sauce on it )

She won't be asked again if she doesn't buck her ideas up next month

The word is crudités.

I take it you mean 'crudite'? Do you have rules for your Supper Club - as in..someone brings nibbles, someone else starter, main course etc? If she was given nibbles, I'd say fair do's, if not, and it's bring what you like, ditto.
What did everyone else bring?

Falafel & aubergines sound like they go quite well with tzaiki

we had cheese cakes, greek salad lots of wine,cheeses,olives and breads and things made with a bit more effort and a little more substantial

yoghurt with a bit of cucumber in it is a bit sad

BTW, home made tzatziki sounds lovely if it was done well, and not a million miles away from what you made TBH.

I like crudite but would rather have a richer dip with it.

Sorry, you need to explain to the more common amongst us what a Supper Party is6, and crucially, what are the rules ? I mean. presumably everyone is contributing something to the meal and you don't^ want everyone turning up with a main course.
Also, is the point, a group of mates getting together for a natter, or is the point, a competitive cookery competition ?

OP, I want to come to your defence right now. A Supper Club is a right good idea, and delicious and fun and friendly, and crudewhatnot is just not cool.Like turning up for a tennis match with out a racket. It ain't teamy.

pmsl at 'crue de te' and the irony of the OP being so condescending about that persons food, but didnt know it was 'crudite'!

Also secone backforgood's question - surely if everyone brings a main to this 'supper club', then everyone is going to be stuffed/lots of food will be wasted?
