To think if you bring tzatziki and crue de te to a supper club...

..you are being a bit tight fisted on the old comestible front

We have a supper club once a month and this week one lady turned up with tzatziki and crue de te.
On entry she proudly announced she had "home made tzatziki and crue de te"

"ooooh crue de te" I said "that sounds exciting. Whats that"

bits of raw fu@@ing veg. I mean come off it you do not turn up to a supper club with that do you?
Put some effort into it woman. I made falafal and an aubergine dish from Rick stein (forget what its called but it has a funny smelly cheese and tomato sauce on it )

She won't be asked again if she doesn't buck her ideas up next month

SarahStratton · 07/03/2012 20:46

My granny used to call quiche 'A nice bit of Kwitch'.

Elderberries · 07/03/2012 20:46

Ha ha Waaaffles. Very funny.

OriginalJamie · 07/03/2012 20:47

Fiendish/maypole my mum says "Ford Kay Ay" instead of KA, thus totally missing the point

Berf Berg ing yong

Fiendishlie · 07/03/2012 20:47

ooh, I have another! DMIL says 'heenz', as in 'heenz beans'. Drives me potty.

OriginalJamie · 07/03/2012 20:48

My mum also say "hospidall" not hospital

GetOrfMoiiLand · 07/03/2012 20:49

LOADS of bastards say ford Kay Ay.

Fiendishlie · 07/03/2012 20:50

kay ay is quite commen, as is 'quickie' for quiche.
SIL once served us soup from her new 'soup latrine'
I'm not making this up!

ViolaCrayola · 07/03/2012 20:50

EverythingInMjiniature Yes, people do weave make their own yogurt, I believe. Not that I ever have or ever will.

I agree that 'shop bought' was an unnecessary addition. I just had a very vivid image of myself someone slopping some Yeo Valley over some cucumber cubes. Hardly supper club stuff is it? Er, not that I would know, come to think of it.

OriginalJamie · 07/03/2012 20:51

getorf

I am from Essex and say "jewel-er-ie" (jewellery) and "the-ET-er" (theatre).

Are these two facts linked?

Milliways · 07/03/2012 20:51

We had a "Pudding Party" full of yummy deserts ...............
.. and the 99p Asda cheesecake which someone brought to defrost on the side. Grin

OriginalJamie · 07/03/2012 20:52

getorf

yes she IS bastard. She will NOT be told. She uses her defence that her friend (also a bastard) says Kay Ay

GetOrfMoiiLand · 07/03/2012 20:53

jamie do you say ON-velope or EN-velope?

Judgement awaits Grin

suburbophobe · 07/03/2012 20:53

Goodness....

A supper club, nice get together, bring pot luck etc.

But no, still one-upmanship. How sad.

Glad I'm not in it.

OriginalJamie · 07/03/2012 20:54

did anyone see "Berf berg ing yong?"

I thought that was rather good

CappyHunt · 07/03/2012 20:54

Can-apes as someone in all seriousness called them the other day. I had to leave the actual party as fits of laughter were not controllable however hard I tried.

Fiendishlie · 07/03/2012 20:54

OJ, what about 'hospikkle' a la Frank Gallagher? Vair common too.
Blush, I spelled common wrong above, shoot me now.

OriginalJamie · 07/03/2012 20:54

I'd love some Pete Tzar

MIL says sa-lid (in very slow mo') instead of salad. Fork off

tangledupinblue2 · 07/03/2012 20:57

Can-apes! Brilliant!

ROFL

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/03/2012 21:00

Is this the type of supper club where everybody puts their car keys in a bowl.....

Hassled · 07/03/2012 21:02

I want a supper club. I might start one. It will be ultra competitive and there will be fisticuffs before the evening ends. Women will be weeping into their Pinot Grigio as the taramasalata congeals. CAN'T WAIT.
