To be a bit disappointed in Kate Middleton?

When visiting Fortnums, apparently she talked about what a struggle it is to make tea properly with "dried tea leaves". For someone who has not ever worked full time, had dependents or any particular constraints apart from media interest, I thought she might be a bit more interesting and competent. She still seems to spend her time giggline and hair flicking and being generally self conscious.

Hey Nancy, leave us husband shagging psychos out of it! He's mine and he likes it.

...and my turret is gone! Oh no!

MuslinSuit · 03/03/2012 19:19

I really like this thread Smile it has everything - judginess, jealousy, conspiracy theories, S+B insights, politics, class war, relationships and tea.

MuslinSuit · 03/03/2012 19:20

Oh and turrets bumsex Grin

aquashiv · 03/03/2012 19:26

On reflection how does one make tea properly with dried leaf tea? She was probably thinking I couldn't give two shiney shites I drink coffee. Tis very hard to be a Queenie type.

Good job the DM aren't following me round reporting my Chit chat with shop assistants!

laptopdancer · 03/03/2012 19:35

I'd rather chit chat about tea than having to look at the other one's fat horse- flank arse again.

Portofino · 03/03/2012 19:36

Well I come at at from the POV that a) She is not thick b) she has had a long hard think about what she is taking on.

breatheslowly · 03/03/2012 19:37

What was the whole dog thing about? They got a dog. The name of the dog was "a private matter" and then she told people anyway. Why? It's just arsing about for the sake of it.

Trills · 03/03/2012 19:41

Is "husband shagging" a bad thing then? Aren't you supposed to shag your husband? That's how one gets heirs, is it not?

LeBOF · 03/03/2012 19:45

And what is happening to the poor puppy while she is out gallivanting round Fortnums?

Portofino · 03/03/2012 19:48

It'll be with "the help".

FreudianSlipper · 03/03/2012 19:51

she is nice but so dull, but then she has been in training for the last 10 years

lets hope harry marries someone who is more interesting

TotemPole · 03/03/2012 19:57

I don't see how we can judge what her real personality is like as we only see the public part. She's probably been coached to keep everything neutral. They won't want her doing 'a Philip'.

She has a degree in Art History. I think it's likely she talks about more interesting stuff when not in the public view. But I doubt we'll ever see that side of her.

Catonkey · 03/03/2012 20:02

I don't like tea.

I like gin.

FreudianSlipper · 03/03/2012 20:05

well i feel i can pass judgement, i am paying to keep her in a life of luxury

i am sure her interviews and her time in public is scripted but still so are many others, some people can still come across as engaging she does not (to me)

ajandjjmum · 03/03/2012 20:06

You're not paying to keep her FreudianSlipper - the Duchy of Cornwall is paying to keep her.

breatheslowly · 03/03/2012 20:11

But if we had a proper revolution like the French couldn't we take the Duchy of Cornwall for the state and therefore nationalise Waitrose?

TotemPole · 03/03/2012 20:11

It's only about 70p per person, per year. It isn't that much.

Mollydoggerson · 03/03/2012 20:18

She does exactly what she is supposed to - intrigue mere mortals with her astonishing weight loss and her relationship with food and exercise while appearing groomed at all times.

FreudianSlipper · 03/03/2012 20:19

other reports claim it to be less others more, but it is also the cost of security that is huge bill

money i would rather see go elsewhere, education, nhs, support for those that really need it

breatheslowly · 03/03/2012 20:19

I'd rather have the 70p. I could have a pack of refreshers and a pack of fruit salads from Tesco and still have 5p change. Perhaps we should set them up as a charity so people could decide how much to give.

breatheslowly · 03/03/2012 20:21

Sorry. I should have said that I would rather it went to good causes, not that I would spend it on sweets. I should be ashamed of my spending priorities.

LeBOF · 03/03/2012 20:25

I'd love to see her do a Philip.

ninah · 03/03/2012 20:28

that's like being disappointed in the hp of a honda jazz op
what exactly were you expecting? Grin
