That's right; a thread being vile about a WOMAN

WTF was that all about? For anyone who hasn't seen

Why was she standing with her leg about 5ft away from the rest of her body? She looked awkward and weird and her leg looked like a chicken leg whereas mine are wonderful, obviously.

AIBU to think that Angelina's Oscar Leg was a bit ridiculous?

I have like 90% male friends. (as in, most of my friends are male. Not that they're about 10% female)

We mostly talk about girls, so it's wrong all over the place

I've just started watching Seinfeld only 21 years late. It's growing on me but you're right.

I hate Thelma and Louise which people think is a feminist film but in which they simply react to what men do to them and then die.

Sorry for spoiling that for anyone who hasn't seen it. No, actually, I'm not. And it's got Susan 'Stick Up Her Arse' Sarandon in it.

My union banned us from writing 'ladies' because it's patronising and divides females into good and bad and respectable and scurrilous.

It's a point with which I agree but I may have dropped my feminist principles whenever talking to the chairman, not chair or chairwoman, of the WI.

I have few principles when trying to get my own way or as some people might say: using my feminine wiles. It is unwise of them to say that...

sonicrainboom · 29/02/2012 15:48

I use "ladies" sometimes becuase there aren't enough non-degrading words to say woman. Like there is for men, you can say bloke chap dude guy etc.

Overall I think it (Seinfeld) passes the Bechdel test, as there are some episodes were Elaine hangs out with other women and they talk about various things, but on the whole, it is mostly three men and a woman hanging around and talking crap. The only other female characters really are Jerry's mother and George's mother.

I do love it though, it's one of the funniest things i've ever seen in my life, despite watching all the episodes at least twice.

Just wanted to say -

ANGELINA to be the next JAMES BOND!!

Yeah....

MinnieBar · 29/02/2012 16:20

Didn't Goldie say several rather dated and un-feminist things about her relationship with Kurt? E.g. it's ok if he shags around, that's what men do, bless 'em, but their actual relationship is rock solid so it doesn't demean her in any way, shape or form. Hmm

Never mind AJ's scrawny leg. I can't see past those arms. She is waaaaay too thin. I'm thinking eating disorder. I've read loads of shit stories where they say she 'forgets to eat' because she's so busy with kids/brad/acting/directing/shopping etc, but come on. This is not a healthy look.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 01/03/2012 00:32

She has to stick one leg out because they couldn't get a babysitter and she is smuggling all 157 children into the Oscars under that skirt. The fingers are the smallest one, trying to claw it's way out to freedom.

Bupcakes! GetOrf! Anyone else who likes Goldie! LOOK!!

BenderBendingRodriguez · 02/03/2012 17:56

I dare one of you to ask "Hey Goldie, I've heard you are a massive bitch. Is it true? :)"

KatieScarlett2833 · 02/03/2012 17:56

I'm Ang neutral but she does look like a vampire. I bet Bradley does his share around the mansion.....

Woo-Jen would irritate me. "Fancy a date Friday night Jennifer?"

"Ooh, I don't know, I might have bikram yoga/cupping class/positive tokers group/weightwatchers/therapy, if I can make it, I'm happy to go out!"

"Great, how about dinner?"

"Great, there's a wonderful lettuce and cabbage fusion restaurant I love, all you can eat, stylish vomitorium and zero carbs!

MinnieBar · 02/03/2012 22:46

Oh dear, Goldie's had some work done on her top lip hasn't she (she's on Graham Norton right now) - she's got bad duck face going on?
