To steal from the church toddler group?

we're 2 days away from pay day and literally have no money. We are ok for food, nappies etc but we ran out of toilet roll today and so when I went to the church toddler group this morning I stole one from their loo Blush I now feel really really bad about it. Not only did I steal but from the church!!

Well it's not great. You could perhaps have cadged off a friend or a neighbour. But make sure you replace it next week.

TeddyBare · 10/01/2012 14:09

Just put one back next week when you've been paid. Problem solved.

SuePurblybilt · 10/01/2012 14:09

God would want you to be hygienically clean.

Rosa · 10/01/2012 14:09

Take one back next week when you have some money say a prayer and say sorry ......

SootySweepandSue · 10/01/2012 14:09

Put an extra pound in the pot next week if you feel guilty. That buys 4 cheapish toilet rolls. I'm sure you pay a bit for the toddler group anyway and I doubt they spend it all.

DemBabies · 10/01/2012 14:10

I might take two back next week. Interest.

Next time take a loo roll and replace it and also some nice biscuits for the playgroups snack time Wink that should make it even.

Jesus forgives

lborolass · 10/01/2012 14:21

Its easy to be lighthearted about a toliet roll but I don't see how this is different to taking the money to buy a toilet roll and saying that its OK to just give it back the next week.

Sorry OP but I don't think you should have done it - slippery slope and all that.

Olderyetwilder · 10/01/2012 14:22

Jesus won't forgive, he will bring a plague of boils down on your bottom.

IndieSkies · 10/01/2012 14:22

Yes, but Jesus isn't the Church Hall caretaker Wink

Just take one roll back next week.

And good luck - one roll wouldn't last our family 2 days....

Loot from Macdonald's toilets next Grin

TheParanoidAndroid · 10/01/2012 14:24

I'm an atheist but aren't the churches always telling you how much Jesus loves you, even the sinners? I'm sure your church would be happy to donate a single cheapo bog roll to a child of god in need.

SuePurblybilt · 10/01/2012 14:25

Lidl sell them £1.75 for ten. Good, honest, scratchy ones.

IndieSkies · 10/01/2012 14:26

I am pretty sure Jesus had to manage without any toilet roll at all!

SparkleSoiree · 10/01/2012 14:27

Theft is theft. You can justify it away as needed but you took something that belonged to someone else without asking. Doesn't matter whether it was a loaf of bread or a loo roll.

I would replace it AND make a small donation to the playgroup for taking advantage in the first place. It's about trust, not the item you steal.

lubeybooby · 10/01/2012 14:27

YANBU, it's a bogroll. They won't know or care or even notice. It could have been someone with a very messy situation to clean up or something and just been flushed away

Just take one back next week and I'm sure you will avoid being smited? smote? whatever :o

Olderyetwilder · 10/01/2012 14:28

That's why he will be so angry! He will see you wiping your bum and will smite you. Grin

WibblyBibble · 10/01/2012 14:29

Dude. If you have to steal loo roll, do it from a fast food chain instead of a church ffs.
