To think that if DH is going to spend in excess of half an hour laying a brown cable, he might give us some warning?

Plaiting my legs here.

DH went up for what I now know must be a monumental turd at 1900 hours. Gave no warning, didn;t say "do you need the bathroom before I plant my arse on the porcelain throne for half an hour?" Just goes in and doesn't emerge for ages.

I need a wee something rotten. He should give warning, right?

Laying a brown cable?

Is that a euphemism?

Like a Cumberland curl?

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 07/01/2012 19:32

YANBU

My DH always goes into the bathroom for at least half an hour before I need to bath the 2 year old or in the mornings when we all need to use the bath/shower/clean our teeth. We have a loo downstairs but oh no he has to use the upstairs one

DP takes a book into the loo,or the newspaper.

It disgusts me.

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit · 07/01/2012 19:34

YANBU. I bet he's playing Angry Birds in there like my DH does Angry

redexpat · 07/01/2012 19:35

YANBU.

kiasport · 07/01/2012 19:35

Oh my god, he's crapping in your loo.

While you're in the house.

And you know what he's doing.

This must be agony for you bupcakes

BupcakesandCunting · 07/01/2012 19:36

If I call to ask him when he will be finished, he accuses me of "setting him back ten minutes" so ten minutes is added to the time. So I have to keep quiet whislt my kidneys throb.

Fucking idiot. I will start adding senakot to all his dinners. It will be out in seconds then.

EEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Also, I'd be mortified if my DH thought it proper to tell me what he was doing in the bathroom. If you need a wee, politely knock on the door and ask him how long he'll be because you need to use the facilities.

But what to do about the skid marks?

Have you got a loo brush Bups?

Pascha · 07/01/2012 19:39

Run in and squat in the bath.

Feminine · 07/01/2012 19:39

I think he should aim to be done way before half an hour.

Is he working on it all that time , or do you think he is just faffing about?

If he is taking that long...I'd recommend more fiber Grin

BupcakesandCunting · 07/01/2012 19:40

I do have a loo brush.

I do, however, flush it out and then duck it in bleach after useage. And I put bleach in the holder.

RecursiveMoon · 07/01/2012 19:40

Shh, don't mention toilet brushes Grin.

ThisIsANickname · 07/01/2012 19:41

What's this about a loo brush?

BupcakesandCunting · 07/01/2012 19:41

It can't be diet-related delays. Mine slip out in less than 30 seconds. Teflon poo, I have got.

OP posts:
Bluestocking · 07/01/2012 19:41

Why don't you just pee in a container and then hand him the container when he comes out?

Chundle · 07/01/2012 19:42

Knock on the door and tell him ur going to wee in the lichen sink if he doesn't get his arse out soon

BupcakesandCunting · 07/01/2012 19:42

Look, I've got a toilet brush. Sometimes I struggle to remove the skids with that and it's a tough brush. How the flip do you get rid of skids without one? Genuine question. Every time I ask this, I never get a straight answer. It's like the non-loo brushers are a secret society or summat.

Out with it.

21YrOldMan · 07/01/2012 19:43

Make it his problem. Easier for guys than girls- if a girl is taking ages you just pee in the sink and she'll never do it again. I'm sure you MN lot could figure out an adequate female equivalent- pee next to his shed (if he has one) or in his favourite drinks bottle, the posh wine glasses that he loves to use, or something like that. Then when he expresses disgust tell him to give you some warning next time or you'll have to do it again.

Only do this if you've talked to him about the issues of his bathroom habits beforehand and he hasn't listened.... Hopefully I didn't need to say that?

reelingintheyears · 07/01/2012 19:43

Lichen sink.?

Don't you clean your sink?Grin

reelingintheyears · 07/01/2012 19:44

I have a loo brush too.

Toothbrushes are just too short.

BobblyGussets · 07/01/2012 19:44

i NEED a wee now. Can I use your lichen sink Chundle please?
