Well only a little bit. Long story but bear with me...

I am currently trying to download iCloud. It says to go to Networks and Sharing. Well it wasn't there, but access to my dh's files was. His pictures file. Now I know he collects pictures of nude wimmin because I've seen him looking at them before. So I thought I'd take a peek at the kind of thing he was looking at. It was pretty harmless, just lots of posed pictures of naked women, etc. That wasn't what shocked me.

There were over 13,000 pictures.

It was like a fucking library. There were folders, sub-folders, categories, sub-categories, different fetishes, a whole folder full of folders of different women with hundreds of pictures of them in each one (and each one was named!) not to mention folders of lingerie, etc.

Now I know I probably got what I deserved, but 13,000? That's bloody years of collecting it. There's no way I'm going to tell him I've seen it. I didn't touch it, just looked through it. He obviously doesn't know I can find it.

I feel like I ought to be impressed at the sheer scale of it. I'm tempted to move it and wait for him to start asking panicky questions about whether the computer has gone wrong or not.

In these Internet porn days of any fetish, any time, anywhere... I actually think it's rather sweet that your DH has downloaded still pictures of naked ladies, and carefully catalogued them. Seems like the sort of thing my own DH would do if he were a little less technophobic.

I'm going to hold my hands up here, and say if there were 13,000 photos of Johnny Depp naked out there, I'd probably have downloaded them. And obviously you'd have to have some sort of filing system... Yeah, I can see how this could happen.

And he does do loads of stuff round the house, he loves diy, he goes fishing 'n' hunting 'n' shooting, he even does a bit of housework. Not drip-feeding here but still trying to work out if I should be a bit annoyed with him or let him have another hobby.

13 k is a lot, that's a bit of a freaky habit there. Personally I think you have posted it in the wrong section. You can be all too for school or be a little freaked out about it.

I would react pretty much the same as you but I would suggest to my DH next time he hasn't got time to list something on eBay that maybe if he has time to catalogue 13000 cheeky photos he might want to rethink! Or I'd give him the job of scanning all my old family photos. There are probably 13000 of them too!

I don't think this kind of thing is harmful or dangerous... Pics of 'Claire from work....' would be a different matter!

I'm with Boulevard in thinking that a catalogued collection of booby pictures is quaint and childish. A big ol' waste of time at worst.

It sounds like he is a good partner in other respects, so for me the only issue would be how much time he has spent collecting these.

it is most likely a bittorrent download. DH some years ago downloaded something similar. It all came filed into neat little categories and sub categories of "readers wives" type of photos. There are dedicated little internet groups that aggregate this kind of stuff and disseminate it through the torrent network.

I don't feel all Mary Whitehouse about it, I just feel a bit shocked at the grand scale of it.

I've often said to him that if he likes porn why can't we share it? Might improve our sex life. He's always had a higher sex drive than me and I'm guessing that this is his outlet, because to be fair he doesn't get an awful lot from me.

Can't wait for him to find them missing though. Am going to have real trouble not saying anything.
