Disclaimer - I was not bloody snooping!

Well only a little bit. Long story but bear with me...

I am currently trying to download iCloud. It says to go to Networks and Sharing. Well it wasn't there, but access to my dh's files was. His pictures file. Now I know he collects pictures of nude wimmin because I've seen him looking at them before. So I thought I'd take a peek at the kind of thing he was looking at. It was pretty harmless, just lots of posed pictures of naked women, etc. That wasn't what shocked me.

There were over 13,000 pictures.

It was like a fucking library. There were folders, sub-folders, categories, sub-categories, different fetishes, a whole folder full of folders of different women with hundreds of pictures of them in each one (and each one was named!) not to mention folders of lingerie, etc.

Now I know I probably got what I deserved, but 13,000? That's bloody years of collecting it. There's no way I'm going to tell him I've seen it. I didn't touch it, just looked through it. He obviously doesn't know I can find it.

I feel like I ought to be impressed at the sheer scale of it. I'm tempted to move it and wait for him to start asking panicky questions about whether the computer has gone wrong or not.

peanut I might have found it in my turkey curry leftovers Xmas Smile

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 02/01/2012 15:51

db, yes, that phase will come and go in direct proportion to how much dense denial you come up against

and how many times you are assumed to hate sex, hate men, disapprove of masturbation and are jealous of the young ladies with the plastic tits and gaping orifices

or summat like that

From what I can tell there have been two men contributing to this thread about a man downloading porn and both seem to just have been discounted as wankers, they actually have more incommon with the OP's husband, being men, downloading porn and uesing it, so really maybe we should pay more attention to what they say and represent and stop discounting them as not representing a male oppion on this subject. I am female and I ues porn all the time, I masterbate, I am not ashamed. I own dvd's, whatch on line, really whatever I fancey. So does my DP and we tend to involve each other in it, so if he is at work and I am at home feeling frisky, I'll do something about it and maybe send him pics, he will do the same. It works for us and the anticepation waiting for him to come home is half the fun. Also sometimes people just masterbate to relive tension. Its not a seedy thing unless you make it seedy.

flatbellyfella · 02/01/2012 16:24

Thumbs up sighn to A/F ( you still have Turkey leftovers?) .This has been way to heavy for me to comment on,but had many laugh out loud moments. How much longer can 13,000 pics get people posting.

I do feel for the OP, she does sound like it is bothering her more than she is willing to admit. And anything that makes you feel like you are worth less and not beautiful can only be detrimental. These things can be embrased and add to a great sex life but as in a lot of the cases here they can also distroy them. An honest converstaion on both OP and her DH part could give them a stronger relationship and build better trust but ignoreing it and trying to pretend it isn't happening cannot end well surely? I am sorry about the bad spelling!

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 02/01/2012 16:29

I have eaten all my turkey leftovers, including peanut's tonsil, it would seem

it must have been that gristly bit I swallowed whole (no swallowing jokes please, keep the seediness out of this)

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 02/01/2012 16:31

funnily enough, tick, I prefer to take more note of my own partner's opinion about what is "normal" for "normal" men rather than some nobber who thinks the number of pictures of naked ladies he has makes him look kool

LeBOF · 02/01/2012 16:32

I've been working on a spilling seedy wank joke, but so far it's not coming. Fnar.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 02/01/2012 16:34

arf

SoFreshNSoClean · 02/01/2012 17:12

Why should we take the opinion of two men over the opinions of dozens of women? It isnt like we are all struggling to understand why the OP's husband has these pictures, is it? he wants to have a wank and needs 13,000 images to get him off. Not rocket.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 02/01/2012 17:13

SoFresh, 'cos men's opinions mean more, of course, especially those in the same pathetic club

you fick woman

SoFreshNSoClean · 02/01/2012 17:14

Sorry, AF, I forgot that

Silly me. It must be because I am blonde

Malificence · 02/01/2012 17:20

I can think of a handful of male posters who state that they don't use porn, regular posters too, not one post wonders. Wink
Only men and women trying to justify their (or their partner's) porn use try and push the myth that all men use porn and can't function without it - it makes them uncomfortable you see, the realisation some men don't need porn in their lives, that's why they try and ridicule them.

Birdsgottafly · 02/01/2012 17:21

If you eat any other chocolate/tea/coffee other than fair trade then you are exploiting someone, just saying. You can give up all of these quite easily.

This isn't a male versus female arguement, either, there is alot of gay/bi porn available.

lollygag · 02/01/2012 17:22

Mybe he doesn't need 13,000 images to get him off.Maybe he's working his way through them one wank at a time (in the words of the old Lena Martel song).

That's not fair. She can't help being fat just like he can't help his naked beauty appreciation.

Xenia · 02/01/2012 18:01

She could eat less.

If men weren't attracted to female beauty none of us would be here. Lust is not something we want to be rid of even if the majority asexual mothers of mumsnet hope it ends on the birth of their last child.

lollygag · 02/01/2012 18:03

I'm learning a lot from this thread.

Birdsgottafly · 02/01/2012 18:05

Men aren't as concerned about women being overweight as other women are. You only have to look around you to realise that women don't have to look like they are portrayed in porn for men to fancy them, so how much weight a woman is carrying really doesn't come into it.

Ask any single women who has been different sizes, it doesn't stop you 'pulling'.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 02/01/2012 18:08

Ooh a porn thread.

If you eat any other chocolate/tea/coffee other than fair trade then you are exploiting someone, just saying.

Yes, and if you're really conscientious you'll give those up too. However, there is a big difference - even if you know your chocolate/tea/coffee is produced by exploited workers, it'll still do its job - the chocolate will still taste yummy, you'll still get a caffeine hit from your tea or coffee ... with porn, once you realise that there's a fair likelihood that the women you are watching have been coerced, or are replaying childhood abuse, or are simply doing it because they're desperate, it's a bit of a turn-off isn't it? At least that's what I found.

therantingBOM · 02/01/2012 18:15

Can I just add that my dh only has a work PC/ Laptop and phone on which all porn is banned.

I know this house top to bottom and his desk at work is a hot desk.. i.e. he shares it with others. His car is empty and I'm regulalrly rummaging in his bags for headache tablets or similar.

I know he does NOT use porn. He used to in his younger years but is now a grown man who is very highly sexed and has no trouble getting off without the use of porn.

If OP doesnt like it there are men out there who agree with her. It's a huge conspiracy that all men use porn and therefore we must put up with it.

PeanutButterCupCake · 02/01/2012 18:28
