whomovedmy chocolate, I dont understand what you mean, by serve my own points"

All I was saying was this happened and its always been in my mind what if she hadnt been standing where she was.

I dont think I can link something which happened 9 or 10 years ago, but I will look.

tumble8 · 28/12/2011 23:53

BeertricksPotter,

I dont understand "points on a thread"

You dont have compassion for a child who had died? how can you not?

I quote "pile of steaming shite" is what I find disrespectful BeertrixPotter.

Im just not sure how posting that it crosses my mind that perhaps if she hadnt been standing where she was it may not have happened, contributes to people getting annoyed, can you explain please then I might understand you, thank you.

Honeydragon · 29/12/2011 00:07

There is no safe place to stand a child unattended in a car park. Why would two adults get into a car and leave a baby out side of it?

tumble8 · 29/12/2011 00:10

Honeydragon, the mum was putting another child into the car when it happened, it took seconds.

I agree there is no safe place, all I have often wondered is what if they had got a parent and child space thats all.

But why would you not utilise both adults to see all the children into the car safely before one of them got into the driver's seat, started the engine and moved it?

If DH parked our car in an empty twelve acre field that sort of idiocy could still kill a child. Or even an texting teenager.

The poor child was at the back of the car in any case where there is no extra room.

tumble8 · 29/12/2011 00:23

maryz,

Im not trying to prove anything, my next sentence in my original post tries to say that obviously it may not have been due to the lack of a parent and child space.
it is my opinion that maybe just maybe if she had been standing next to the car and not where she was things might have been differnt, my thought.

I have no argument.

Beertricks, how else should I interpret "steaming pile of shite" ?

giraffesCanGoFirstFootingOnNYE · 29/12/2011 00:24

I once parked in a parent and child space. I had no children. But I had just got out of hospital and couldn't count past 3 without gasping for breath when I was at rest so couldn't walk far and needed my prescription. I am a rebel.

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 29/12/2011 00:25

I would have punched you in the chops, Giraffes, ill or not YOU RESPCT THE ROOLZ.

tumble8 · 29/12/2011 00:25

Winterwonderland,

i completly agree.

giraffesCanGoFirstFootingOnNYE · 29/12/2011 00:29

I'd have loved that, then I could phone claims direct and get one of those blue badge things for being unable to drive from being punched and then I could park anywhere - even your driveway innit.

WinterWonderlandIsComing · 29/12/2011 00:33

Have you just have been putting forward a idea on this initially light-hearted thread? That a special space may have made an over-whelming difference to the terrible outcome? I think you are correct to wonder and to speculate. It's something we all do when these things happen so that it fair enough Smile

Correlation isn't causation and I'm sorry if you have been personally affected by the event but this board is probably not the best place to type / think out loud.

tumble8 · 29/12/2011 00:35

Oh dear.

I think I will tootle off now to the normal world where people respect one anothers opinions , certainly where I come from.

My first time on Mumsnet will be my last and I will leave this place of cynicism and spite.

what an odd place. I guess there must be some nice people on here too , good luck!

WinterWonderlandIsComing · 29/12/2011 00:37

I was trying to be nice! Confused

What an odd addition to the thread!
Bummer, it was going so well and I was pmsl at some of the typos - 'shot hair' and 'sports cats' were my faves so far - and then it all went tits up and Xmas Sad.

Tumbler - you are perhaps not best suited to MN if you can't cope with simple disagreement that your point, while traigcally sad, was not really relevant to the argument in hand. Hope you find somewhere that suits you better.Xmas Smile

MotherMucca · 29/12/2011 01:12

Mother and me park in the P&C spaces, completely legitimately.

She's the parent; I'm her child.

CTR you little minx.

MotherMucca · 29/12/2011 01:12
