But he got himself in?

LoveInASnowyClimate · 28/12/2011 22:56

Am I being thick in not seeing how a P&C space would have prevented that? Obviously incredibly tragic but can't see how a wider space would have helped if she was behind the car?

HELLO, if she had space to stand next to the car , she wouldnt have been behind it,her dad was in the driving seat and accidently rolled back into her.

very sad

SuePurblybilt · 28/12/2011 23:10

? How would that happen? Why would you not put a child in first?

What a load of crap tumble.
Why would he move the car without strapping her in first?
Silly story and doesn't prove anything apart from the fact that chaos has buggered off as usual. Grin

It does sound like the Dad wasn't very in control of the situation.

tumble8 · 28/12/2011 23:27

Ive not explained this at all well. ok mum , dad, children at supermarket, dad in car, mum comes back to car and gets kids into car, 2 year old at back of car , car for whatever reason goes back, pins child against barrier child dies.

If child standing next to car because there is space to stand ie they would not have been at the back of the car PERHAPS they would be alive.

Perhaps not.

very very sad, this all happened in seconds. yes it was the dads fault but all I am saying is what if ....

SuePurblybilt · 28/12/2011 23:33

Oh for goodness sake, I am off to bed. I haven't the patience.

Sparklingbrook · 28/12/2011 23:34

WinterWonderlandIsComing · 28/12/2011 23:39

It's very sad about the child, tumble. Awful.

I wouldn't trust a young child to stand alone at the side of a car even if there were acres of space though. Children wander. Christ, my eleven year old put on an adjacent path might get distracted. And no fucker driver should be moving let alone reversing a car with any people around especially small ones.

whomovedmychocolate · 28/12/2011 23:40

Car parks are dangerous places. But being in a P&T space does not make you more likely to be splatted. Being appropriately supervised does though. Jeez I would say you are more in danger in a P&T space because of the monster mum trucks coming at head height at 30 MPH because they are desperate to bag the last big space Hmm

and I don't actually believe it without a link.....

tumble8 · 28/12/2011 23:42

BeertricksPotter, I crossed posts so didnt see it.

I guess you have to have a sense of compassion to get what Im on about.

whomovedmychocolate · 28/12/2011 23:43

There was a three year old killed when her mother's car rolled back in a nursery car park two years ago. But bog all to do with spaces, just a tragic accident. Does not do you justice to serve up the tragedy of others to serve your own points without referencing them correctly IMHO.
