I'm happy that they came to her party,I'm just surprised 3 children didn't give a present, I personally couldn't send dd to a party without a present.

I do remember DN getting an invitation saying that X was having a party from 12.00 to 12.30 and to "please bring a present"
SIL was Angry and wouldn't let DN go!

Shock chipmonkey how rude. I doubt he had many turn up to that party.

Well dd has said she has had the best birthday ever Smile and hasn't mentioned anything since.

I think it is shocking its part of the whole deal of birthdays/childrens parties. Even if you dont have much money you just need abit of imagination - our local charity shop has fab childrens books for 30p each you're not telling me the parents in question couldnt have afforded that?!

my ex-p regularly takes our ds to birthday parties without presents for the child. Personally I find that mortifying. For the likes of my cousin's dd birthday I did just slip some money into a card as I hadn't a clue what she had or hadn't.

Ballroom I wonder if you are the ex-p of one of DS1's classmates Wink His dad (who I am fairly certain is seperated from his mum) seems to bring him to all the parties and he always turns up without a present.

Have to say that he was the only one who didn't bring a present to DS1's party (in fact the only party guest we have had to any of my DC's parties) who has not brought a present with them - and yes, I was a little bit Shock about it.

Grin Wouldn't surprise me

Could be a man thing although I hate saying that as it implies that for good social skills you must have a vagina, but I do remember dh being a bit Confused about parties. He brought ds1 to a party and the Mum asked him why he hadn't brought ds2 as he would have been more than welcome. So the next party ds1 was invited to, dh brought ds2 and left him there only to overhear that Mum moaning that "he dumped the bloody kid on me!" Mind you, he has always managed to bring a present!
