To think that people who wear Hunter wellies are big knobbers...

...if it's in an urban area and it's not raining?

Why not just stick eight tenners to your forehead or a note saying 'I can afford £80 for a pair of wellies' and be done with it?

Thing is girls, boots are like anything else. Why by a merc when a kia will do, why buy a sony tv when a brand x will do. Wellies are the same. I love my shiny red hunters, comfy and stylish and i got them off ebay brand new way cheaper than list. Cheap wellies are for the kids as they grow out of them so quickly.

I don't own Hunters but instead constantly wear my ridiculous spotty wellies and intend to get muck boots.

And yes, I wear them on tarmac in dry weather. Because I am walking the dog towards the park and woods where it is muddy. They are sufficiently mud encrusted but am I supposed to carry a change of shoes?

To be honest I thought the woman I saw last week tottering towards the woods on high heels was a way bigger knobber than me Grin

Love the fact that there is an ad for Hunters to the right of this thread.... Grin

I have some. And a Barbour jacket

But I wear them on the yard with my horses so I think I am ok

I can sometimes be found wearing them in the supermarket etc if I have gone in after the stables

My cheap Muck Ruckers are more comfy though (and warmer)

Chesntoots · 26/01/2013 10:08

I can remember when Hunters were green and made in Scotland, Barbour just made waxy, smelly jackets and Joules made actual real riding clothes (the most comfy breeches). Alas, no more. And that is why I no longer buy any of it. Also none if it lasts very long nowadays...(tightfisted, country-dwelling, Yorkshire lass).

YorkshireDeb · 26/01/2013 10:19

Congratulations on your use of the word knobber. Officially the best word in the world. I wouldn't spend that much in a pair of wellies. And they wouldn't fit my fat calves. X

Newsflash for thread reviver

Hunters are cheap shite mass produced on China, and last 5 minutes for people that need proper wellies.
Same for Joules Yard Boots.

My toughest pair of wellies of are children's ones Grin

50shadesofmeh · 26/01/2013 10:41

Mine were £45 I got them
For camping and outdoors things and they really are very comfortable as I have high arches.
People wearing them in shopping centres or as fashion look like dicks though.

Pigsmummy · 26/01/2013 10:47

Have you seen the ones with red soles? Proper Chavtastic,

If you are in the countryside, up to your knees in mud then Hunters are fine, in Asda on a Saturday afternoon chav

wewereherefirst · 26/01/2013 10:47

My husband has them as part of his work uniform. He says they're shit Grin

stargirl1701 · 26/01/2013 10:50
