Nasty voice, whiny, weak and high pitched.

mediocre pop shite at best.

and just whiny and bizarre when he decided he was he messiah.

Bollocks and crap.

Yabu!!! Agree Madonna is crap though as someone else said!

MissBetsyTrotwood · 06/11/2011 07:29

Thriller, Off the Wall, Bad... Some of the most influential records ever made and definitely not mediocre. And he was really hands on (!) in the studio too - not one of those artists who swans in and leaves it all up to the producer.

But I agree to a certain extent about the later stuff - not to my taste at all.

MissBetsyTrotwood · 06/11/2011 07:30

And Billie Jean? The best bassline ever!

(Stayin' Alive excepted, your honour.)

The man invented the moonwalk.

I can't even do the moonwalk.

Not sure really. I don't know if his music is rubbish or just overplayed. All I know is if anything by him comes on the radio as i am driving my heart sinks slightly and I immediately change station to Capital, no shitey MJ on there!

HecateGoddessOfTheNight · 06/11/2011 10:08

I like some of his songs. Others I think are shit.

I loathed some of his - mannerisms? affectations? what's the word I am looking for Hmm though. The crotch grabbing, that ridiculous noise he used to make.

It would have been better had he simply sung, imo.

How sad that you are missing out on the greatest artist in history. To know his true genius you need to have all his unbelievable albums.

SirYawnsAlot · 21/07/2021 04:01

Like the thriller video, zombie.

Pixxie7 · 21/07/2021 04:23

He can’t have been that bad given the amount of money he made.

She might have changed her mind. It's been nearly ten years.

He didn't invent it. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonwalk_(dance)

I liked him.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 21/07/2021 08:06

Yanbu. I could never see the appeal. Didn't like his voice or songs and Hmm about him grabbing his crotch all the time
I did like Jarvis Cocker taking the piss which is pretty much how I've always felt about MJ

Thisisworsethananticpated · 21/07/2021 08:10

Nah human nature was a cracking song

He did sing some classic pop songs.

I saw him in concert when I was about 10 and was disappointed - I wasn't really a fan, but I was expecting to be blown away by the spectacle of it all. He was a fragile and confused person, whipping up the superfans into a deifying frenzy with the posturing and confidence, but then acting like a shy child who didn't want to sing at a family gathering.

OneTC · 21/07/2021 08:23

Everyone's entitled to their wrong opinion Smile

Reallyreallyborednow · 21/07/2021 08:26

Can’t stand him. Like others have said, formulaic dance moves, and weird “eee ooh” singing. The half mast trousers as well.

There’s a duet with Britney where he looks like a seriously creepy old man following her round the stage grabbing his crotch and rocking his pelvis. With the odd twirl and point, grab hat as if that’s going to impress her. She just looks like she’s trying to get away, especially when he tries to touch her.

Team Jarvis all the way.

Now Janet, otoh…

RozHuntleysStump · 21/07/2021 08:30

He was brilliant. My autistic son loves his music so I listen to it ALL THE TIME!

It's been TEN YEARS

How did you find this? I need to know

CounsellorTroi · 21/07/2021 08:33

Beat It was brilliant. And Off the Wall.

isitsummertimeyet · 21/07/2021 08:33

The 80s and early 90s stuff were alright, wasnt so keen on the last few years of his music but by then his legacy was already cemented.

IF you compare him to any of todays modern offerings he absolutely wipes the floor with them..

Who you gonna choose over MJ ?

Olly Murs?
One Direction?
Justin Bieber?

I think the post was posted as a windup and many have taken this as a serious post.

Laiste · 21/07/2021 08:33

Human Nature and Annie Are You OK are the only two i like.

The twitching, flapping and yelping on stage did nothing for me even at the time when it was all at it's height.

And as for Bad ... Hmm. I've never seen anyone less 'bad' looking than mj with his eyeliner and pristine little studs and buckles.
