a drunk conversation on a girls night sparked the conversation of shaving down there.... i was very surprised to hear that out of 11 females only 3 still had hair down there.... Its not something i ever thought about before, and in the conversation i was 1 of the 3 that wasn't completely bare down there lol i am now the center of several hairy jokes, which doesn't bother me as they are quite funny... But anyway, as none of us no each other on here my question is are most people bare down there?

I prefer Borneo to Brazil! Grin
Thonk 1970s porn star...

Haggyoldclothbatspus · 26/10/2011 14:48

think, even!

MrsOzz · 26/10/2011 14:49

Yes but that is not baldness they can remeber or have had sexual experiences with!

stripeybumpinthenight · 26/10/2011 14:50

Usually do some landscaping, but since I have a massive bump I can't see below it so haven't bothered for ages.

MillyR · 26/10/2011 14:52

Goodness, what kind of sexual experiences are people having with their naked pubic mounds? I think I am lacking in imagination as I cannot think of what extra things you could do without hair.

Ice cubes maybe? A small body mural?

Thingumy · 26/10/2011 14:53

'Each to their own i suppose, but my OH would flip if i even allowed a few days stubble to grow'

Why would he flip toolittle?

Ifancyashandy · 26/10/2011 14:54

Like I said earlier, I shave. But equally, if I had a partner who would 'flip out over a few days stubble' he would be loooooooooong gone. Any man who can't cope with a few pubes and what a full grown womans body looks like au natural ain't man enough for me.

MrsOzz · 26/10/2011 14:59

Yes clearly lacking imagination.

Moominsarescary · 26/10/2011 14:59

He probably doesn't like pubescent in his teeth

Who cares, and as usual the argument only started because someone mentioned shaved fannies and looking like a little girl, I can't be arsed to faf with it so off it all comes

Some people like bushy, se like a little bit left, so what

My dp shaves it all off and certainly doesn't look like a little boy

Moominsarescary · 26/10/2011 15:00

Pubescent , bloody iPhone obviously pubes in his teeth

fuzzynavel · 26/10/2011 15:01

No. Never would be completely hairless. Reminds me of a little girls noony.

If a man asked me to do this I'd tell him to bugger right off too, smacks of paedophillia in my head.

notyummy · 26/10/2011 15:01

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if someone has laready said this - but you all need to read Caitlin Moran on this (How to be a Woman.) Very funny, and a good read - but also thought provoking on why we feel the need to whip all our hair off.

Personally, I walk a middle ground. I am not quite in touch enough with my inner feminist to go swimming with lots of hair everywhere, so I tidy up a bit and make it look 'neat' so it doesn't show when I wear my bikini. But the idea of getting it all removed has never crossed my mind - and has never been mentioned by any of my partners past or present.

TheQueenOfDeDead · 26/10/2011 15:12

The bit about pubic hair was the only bit in Caitlin Moran's book that I thought was utter bollocks.

I felt strangely disappointed by her prescriptive views.

MrsStephenFry · 26/10/2011 15:13

Now we have a woman who isnt allowed to have hair, controlled by her partner.

But its evenmore depressing that noone seems bothered by this. Feminism101.

notyummy · 26/10/2011 15:16

I am not saying I agree with her - but I agree with her argument re the influence of the porn industry about why public hair is no longer seen as acceptable - and about the fact that younger girls seem to feel pressured to remove it completely far more so than they were 20/20 years ago.

Fatshionista · 26/10/2011 15:17

I am 22 and stubbly down there. I do a depilatory cream/wax/shave combination to make it look tidy but I don't mind being au natural as long as it's tidy and it's not unruly.

Fatshionista · 26/10/2011 15:18

FWIW, DP couldn't care about what's down there as long as he gets some but does say oral is easier when bald.

carmenelectra · 26/10/2011 15:20

This is hilarious.

Loving the comments about blood clots and clinkersGrin and the poster who said she trims for 'length control'.

I shave the lot off and have done for yrs. Occasionally I use veet and it gives better results but is a bit more time consuming.

I think it looks better that way and so does my dp(though i don't exactly do it for him- i would do it anyway) and i prefer him trimmed or shaved.

I am not that hairy so probably could get away with just a close trimSmile but i think when woman are super hairy so its going down their legs, its a bit gross. I wouldn't want to look like a geezer.

Don't get the whole looking like a child thing. I also wax my eyebrows and shave my legs. Its so i don't have a unibrow and to make me look more groomed, not to look like a child.

hwjm1945 · 26/10/2011 15:27

when i was younger, am now 44, i had never heard of it being a mainstream thing to reomve anything other than the bits that show in a swim suit, it is def a "modern" thing at least in UK born and nred folk

Bugsy2 · 26/10/2011 15:27

Carmenelectra, you laugh but my sis is a GP & she says it is surprising the number of people she sees with dags (poo stuck to their pubes). Obviously, as a seasoned professional, she doesn't make a gagging noise, sneer horribly & refuse any further treatment - but it is a more common problem than you'd imagine!

notyummy · 26/10/2011 15:28

I'm not entirely with the whole bald=childlike thing either Carmen, however I do think there is a big difference between removing the hair on your eyebrows and legs (that are not a sign of sexual maturity) and your pubic hair - which evidently is.

MamaLazarou · 26/10/2011 15:28

I have a full, luxuriant bush and am not ashamed.

MamaLazarou · 26/10/2011 15:30

I once went with a guy who had shaved bollocks. I did think it was a bit odd, but was mainly distracted by the size of his enormous cock, so it didn't really bother me much. Jesus, it was huge. A monster in his pocket, I tell you.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/10/2011 15:31

I've gone hairless a few times - hated it. Never again. dp wasn't keen either.

I would say each to their own and all that - then someone comes along and says their partner "would flip" if they didn't shave their fanjo almost daily. Bloody hell Shock

TheVampireEmpusa · 26/10/2011 15:32

"But its evenmore depressing that noone seems bothered by this."

Are you even reading the same thread as the rest of us? People have already pointed out that is wrong.
