I love this forum so much , I wrote an entire routine about it . Would you like to see / hear it ?

I have read posts on here in which the author says that they deserve their ridiculous bonus. I have read that bankers are misunderstood types. I have read that if we don't get this wage or if we have to pay a penny more tax we will emigrate.

Apart from the "mummies" bit it all rang true and I recognised the posters she was referring to.

Generally, I don't find women comedians funny. There. I said it.

This kind of insipid shit is why. Go and sit on the "average-laugh-per-minute = about-0.5" bench with Sarah Millican, Mary Bourke.

It's not even that I care much about the content; I don't. It's just boring.

Seriously lazy. It's just a replication of media stereotypes and getting men to laugh at women. Neither are hard or insightful. I'm sure it'll get you the gigs though as you're saying what people want to believe. Super.

No, it doesn't have to be strictly accurate, but observational comedy is much funnier when there is a greater degree of accuracy than this.

I'd never heard of her until this thread but after checking her out on YT I think she's great - I really really hope she's a M'netter.

But it's observational, so I think it does need to be accurate. Or else there's No Point.

It seems pretty accurate to me. I've been on here for years and years and years (missing out on the DCs childhoods as a result, but that's OK) and I recognise the characters/caricatures.

The most interesting thing about her skit, is that it turns out a lot of people who post on Mumsnet don't mind being called smug complacent bitches.

I don't think I've ever seen a group of people less perturbed about being insulted.

I think that AIBU, the forum that this "comedian" was going on about can appear to be bitchy. It's a lazy term though and I don't like it.
