I love this forum so much , I wrote an entire routine about it . Would you like to see / hear it ?

OP posts:
BleachedWhale · 14/10/2011 18:44

Jamie - that's what I heard too - probably her boyfriend Wink

So - is the joke about class - the 4x4s, the tapas, etc, or is it about women / MNers?

KatieMortician · 14/10/2011 18:44

I think you're talking to her agent...

brokenwingedflier · 14/10/2011 18:47

I liked it, but not as much as I liked what someone reposted on the royalty thread (can't remember the names, but I think that the original poster should be credited, before comic Mary uses it.

Day 1 Roast chicken
Day 2 chicken stew
Day 3 chicken salad
Day 4 chicken pasta
Day 5 chicken rissoles
Day 6 chicken risotto
Day 7 chicken soup
Day 8 we all pass the bloody carcass round the table and inhale it.

I don't think I have done this justice. And I loved Maryz's riposte about her teens finishing it on day one.

What do feminists laugh at? -

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 18:49

Things that are funny, ry.

RosemarysBassoon · 14/10/2011 18:49

"What do feminists laugh at?"

You know those funny things? Those.

JamieComeHome · 14/10/2011 18:50

try us ry

MarginallyNarkyPuffin · 14/10/2011 18:50

Meh. It's a lazy stereotype that has more in common with the articles that use Mumsnet as shorthand for upper middle class angst ridden helicopter parents than the mothers on this site.

Shame really. The woman seems competent but her material is forgettable.

JamieComeHome · 14/10/2011 18:50

hully - have pm'd you

rycooler · 14/10/2011 18:50

like what?

BleachedWhale · 14/10/2011 18:52

Today, ry, this feminist has laughed at The Missing Toaster Thread. Lots and lots of posts made me LOL.
I love women being funny.

noddyholder · 14/10/2011 18:54

Very very funny

SuePurblybilt · 14/10/2011 18:54

I must be very grumpy today because I didn't find it funny at all.

JamieComeHome · 14/10/2011 18:56

Eddie Izzard
Billy Connolly
Mitchell and Webb
Tommy Cooper
Victoria Wood
Green Wing
Catherine Tate
Etc Etc

y'know, funny stuff

BoastingByStealth · 14/10/2011 18:56

I thought it was great, but you missed the magic words

leave the bastard

Keep it up, and post more links :o

Prolesworth · 14/10/2011 18:56

"Meh. It's a lazy stereotype that has more in common with the articles that use Mumsnet as shorthand for upper middle class angst ridden helicopter parents than the mothers on this site."

This. It's such a tired stereotype.

And I agree with Robot. Hearing a woman talking about "hunting the bitches down" to an audience of guffawing blokes is really bloody sinister to my (feminist) ears.

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 18:57

Well, ry, since you are clearly curious, I laugh at:

Flight of the Conchords
Monty Python
Made in Chelsea
Most Steve Martin films
Borat
Frasier
The racing car film whose name escapes me which has my all time funnniest line of someone seeing Jesus as a "figure skater in a tight white suit"
Bringing Up Baby
Screwball comedies

etc

hth

rycooler · 14/10/2011 18:59

Jamie - I love all the people you listed - Smile I suppose I just find lots of people funny. ( apart from Lenny Henry )

JamieComeHome · 14/10/2011 19:00

Oh yes

Life of Brian
Hot Fuzz
Phoenix Nights
Peep Show
Harry Hill's TV burp
Some like it Hot
Spaced

diddl · 14/10/2011 19:00

Well we´re all different as I don´t find

Billy Connolly
Mitchell and Webb
Tommy Cooper
Victoria Wood
Catherine Tate

funny at all.

Hullygully · 14/10/2011 19:00

Talladega Nights - that's the film.

JamieComeHome · 14/10/2011 19:03

diddl - that is your right.

rycooler · 14/10/2011 19:04

Hully - I love all that too. Steve Martin is a genius and I could recite - word for word - every episode of Fawlty Towers.

BleachedWhale · 14/10/2011 19:07

That series that has just finished on R4.
Tha Castle.
I had to pull over to the side of the road during the Jeremy Clarkson 'Shall I compare Thee to a Summer's day?' poem.

rycooler · 14/10/2011 19:07

My favourite comedy of all time has to be Blackadder though.
