And it's ALWAYS old people or business men.

I want to scratch all their cars and kick their tyres!

Actually I needed the wide space more when I was pregnant Grin I had at least one incident where I couldn't physically get in the car when I came back to it and had to ask a complete stranger to back the car out Shock

twotesttickles · 26/09/2011 20:36

Perhaps that's because CoralRose needs the extra room to park the bus for 14? Confused

gordyslovesheep · 26/09/2011 20:37

I think you should only be allowed to park in them if you have a HUGE 4x4 with bull bars

twotesttickles · 26/09/2011 20:37

Stripedcat - I once got stuck in the boot trying to climb in for this very reason. Twas mortifying. Especially when I pissed myself. Blush

gordyslovesheep · 26/09/2011 20:37

.... and no kids

CoralRose · 26/09/2011 20:37

No, no one NEEDS them, but it's a damn sight easier to get the car seat out when you have extra space.

twotesttickles · 26/09/2011 20:38

I think they should be relabelled 'spaces for people who can't park' Grin

That'll learn 'em.

hiccymapops · 26/09/2011 20:38

I have to ask, 13 children under 6 at the supermarket Confused why?

planetpotty · 26/09/2011 20:38

I think they should move the P and C parking further away fm the doors making it less appealing for others to nick the spaces. Its not really being close to the doors that I personally need with 3 kids in the car all needing belting into car seats etc, its the extra room to get the doors open properly without damaging the car next to me.

Surprised at the hatred for P and C parking on MN thought it would be the other way around, hey ho its there and I like it :)

Michael McIntyre does a very good joke about the parking space debate Grin

gordyslovesheep · 26/09/2011 20:38

Regarding the Pregnancy thing - park at the end of a row - problem solved - you may need to walk further though - whatafuckingliberty etc etc

Sirzy · 26/09/2011 20:39

Dont take the car seat out then if its that much of a problem! Or park at the back of the car park where its always quiet!

oh now novel idea - leave the car seat and let baby acrucally spend time not scrunched up in a hard plastic case

lacornsillk · 26/09/2011 20:39

I have the urge to paint over the buggy in the p&t spaces. Not sure what I'd paint over the top though Hmm

Daisypod · 26/09/2011 20:40

SIRZY - Not talking about disabled people I am talking about the people who seem to get a kick out of parking in these spaces just to piss others off. Amazing how so many reply to this tread saying how others have too much time on their hands to want to discuss this but there they are replying to the thread, using their time. Something slightly ironic in that.
Oh and so life as tougher in the 90's or the 60's so what does that mean that the things we have to make life a bit easier now should just be ignored? What a pathetic idea. Get over yourselves, yep you are obviously much better parents than us because you have suffered sooooo much Hmm

CoralRose · 26/09/2011 20:40

It was a joke... I was joining in with the hard done by brigade, who obviously don't have any modern appliances and do everything the old fashioned way, because back in the day there was no choice.

gordyslovesheep · 26/09/2011 20:41

I'd park in them to piss you off to be honest

The parking attendant at my local Waitrose often directs me to parrk my shiny sports car in the p and c spaces as the car park is often full.

It's always with hesitation that I leave the car as I expect some stressed parent to go mental.

So please don't scratch my car.

thederkinsdame · 26/09/2011 20:42

If you can't park it, dont drive it Wink

CoralRose · 26/09/2011 20:42

Thanks for your advice, but I think I will continue to make use of the P&T spaces provided for people with children so that at least one of my children remains asleep during the ordeal that is the Big Shop.

BatsUpMeNightie · 26/09/2011 20:42

I don't think anyone 'hates' the P & C parking potty. What I don't like is the stroppy vengeful attitudes of those who think those spaces are their God given inviolable right.

daisypod - you sound like a somewhat self obsessed bad tempered nightmare if you don't mind me saying so.
