TO think going to Disney World with no kids is a bit sad?

I mean, why would you? What would posess an adult couple to go to Disney World on holiday if they had no children? I went WITH kids and that was torturous enough - the KIDS thought it was babyish and corny. I just can't understand why adults would want to make a holiday of it! My cousin and her partner go every year and they always post shit on facebook such as "oo can't wait to see The Mouse next month! ooo can't wait to go on the Aladdin ride!"

When we were there we were waiting in huge queues for rides such as "Jimmy Neurtron" seeing tiny kids getting all hot and bothered alongside adults stood there with a gawping grin on their faces at the prospect of being "next". Saddos!

we went, with the dds (still only small!), and will doubtless go back. the rides are (some of them) excellent. I should think I will easily still be going wiht dd1 (severe ASD) when she is an adult - she loves the rides, and needs someone to go with her (oh, what a hardship)

It's not my cup of tea but then nor is a weekend in a Health Spa...yet I can understand that everyone's different in what they enjoy.

Some people like that kind of thing.

I wouldn't want to go with or without kids, but there are lots of things that people consider "fun" that I wouldn't want to do.

the firework displays are amazing, there is a complex that is adults only, there are rides that are adult only

I loved taking our girls to Disneyworld. Also love taking my grandson to Disneyland Paris, and plan on taking him to Florida next year.

you have obviously not been to pleasure island - clubs bars restaurants and live music only for adults. Very good

DH and I couldn't afford a proper honeymoon so went to Alton Towers for a couple of days instead. Had we been able to afford a proper honeymoon, we'd have probably done Disney/Universal Studios etc.,

I do remember booking into the hotel and there were another couple on honeymoon also, they were very erm, how to describe them? Clutching Teddy Bears, wearing Disney Motif tops, and hats that said 'we love Rollercoasters' and generally behaving in a manner that reminds me of the poeple the OP probably has in mind!! They were harmless and VERY enthusiastic, we spent a lot of time trying to avoid them.

DH and I drank our Champers, and then went on rollercoasters all day, feeling a bit giddy... something we couldn't do with kids!

I guess it depends on the person really. YANBU OP, as I think I know the people you're on about and feel the same, but YABU as we love theme parks.

YABU to want to censor someone else's odea of a fun holiday. Just because you prefer Whitby to Orlando's theme parks doesn't mean everyone else has too.

FWW I have been to the parks in Orlando four times now, albeit we have had DD with us each time. I probably wouldn't go for a full holiday there without her tbh but I do love it when I am there and would go for a day visit to a park to go on the rides, and to see The Harry Potter bit again.

Pleasure Island is part of Disney iirr. We've not been as we always have DD with us.

See I'm not talking about theme parks in General - I loved Orlando (but Disney spoilt it!). But queuing for hours to go on a toddler ride and have your photo taken with a bloke dressed in a mouse costume??!!

If you're not jealous, why are you so judgemental about someone else's choice of holiday? It's not like you're paying for it, is it?

Disney is fantastic, you'd have to be a real misery guts not to enjoy it. Queueing is a pain in the ass though.

I enjoyed the "America" show - that was hilarious.

OP you're fighting a losing battle. I started a thread a while back asking how anyone (adult) could possibly get so excited about going to DL that they would spend the night before departure crying. I was slated, told I didn't know what I was talking about, it was magical etc etc. Haven't changed my mind. I still would rather claw out my eyeballs than go but apparently all the people walking round wearing mickey mouse ears are right and I'm the unreasonable one.

Oh and I was told I was jealous. Like hell!

Disneyworld/land I can understand but who on earth willingly goes to Disneyland in Paris without children? I was amazed at the number of adults sans enfants we saw there.
