to get mad at people using parent and child parking without a child?

There I was sitting in Tesco's carpark waiting for my little girl to wake up so I could shop and I must have watched 3 or 4 cars in the space of 10 mins use the spaces for parent and child even though they had none! One woman had two dogs but I suspect that that doesn't count! When I went in the store I told the lady on customer services but she didn't seem very interested and just said she'd tell " one of the lads to have a look". I was so mad! Actually the worst one was a guy who had 2 child seats in the car and no kids! Should know better! Ok , rant over!

Perhaps the guy with child seats was going in to look for his wife and kids...

Well I suppose if I cared I could argue that the point of P&T spaces is so that you have more space to get DC's in and out of car. Since you weren't doing that at that point perhaps you were also pretty unreasonable....

I feel your pain. This bugs the hell out of me too!!

That said, I always end up making excuses for them, like squeaky I presume they're there to pick up their children so that I can bottle out of having a go at them!.

Perhaps there was no where else to park as all the other spaces were taken up with loons waiting for their DC's to wake up rather than shopping.

I think the disabled parking is essential; the parent and child, not at all really. I don't use it, I park as far away from the store as possible and we just walk. It's not as if it's miles away and there's always plenty of space to open doors.

I'm not surprised the store didn't act on your complaint; pander to one customer to upset another... I don't think that's going to happen. It's like the 'Am I driving safely?' numbers... another sop for the public to complain to.

Parking spaces!!! when I were a lass i had to walk 40miles to the shop with 4 kids piled on a pram, count yourself lucky you have a car at all.

My MIL used to walk up to the local shops, up a bloody great hill, with bags in her hands and then tied to a scarf round her neck...she is not a carthorse really, lol..........now we want to park right on the doorstep of the shops to avoid walking 100 metres...........

Actually, I was waiting for her to wake up to then put her in a push chair to shop, and the extra space is pretty handy. Nice to see how supportive so many of those comments were! I'm not surprise the store didn't act either, though if they were disabled spaces no doubt they would have!

Why are you mad though? Why does it bother you so much? There are other spaces in the car park for you to use (maybe it could be argued that you misused the space by waiting for your sleeping child).

I have never understood the rage from parents over P&C spaces, which are just a ploy. Prents who do get angry really show that they have an inflated sense of entitlement just because they have children. I really wish they were scrapped.
