AIBU to shoplift from Superdrug?

sassyminder · 18/07/2011 22:04

I have been using this cream eye shadow for ages. I can find it only on Superdrug.
First it was from one company that does not make it anymore so I had to move on to another more expensive..3x more expensive...anyway I was happily buiyng it always when I neede but could not bring myself to stock it because would feel guilty as the thingy is nearly £15 (it is a small round pot of eye cream shadow!)
Anyway, last time I went to Superdrug just to buy it as I was runing out, and could not find my colour...so I asked the lady who works in the make up session if there was any similar product from other maker and she said, no there wasnt and that maker would also stop making that product and they would not receive NONE anymore...it is all finished.
I could not help myself, I mean..I helped myself with the tester one that was there intacted...opened but new...
Now, it looks like I am the only person in the world who likes that thing doesn't it?

OP posts:

Stealing is stealing even if its a tester.
Of course YABU.
(Bubbles - Heather shimmer was my weakness and Boots Twilight Teaser!!)

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 12:11

Using Touche Eclat your eyes is STUPID. Stupid and WRONG.

Don't do it OP. People will point and laugh at you.

You want Touche Velouté by By Terry. From Space NK. But you'll never be able to nick it from there so ...

CupcakesandTwunting · 19/07/2011 12:15

I wouldn't know about Touche Eclat. I hardly need to conceal/highlight anything.

OracleInaCoracle · 19/07/2011 12:16

I quite like boots no7 light reflecting concealor. Its good. And fits into you pocket.

AmberLeaf · 19/07/2011 12:26

Go to John Lewis or similar, go and have a look round the cosmetics dept and get yourself a decent concealer. There are some amazing products out there for dark shadows/eye pigmentation.

Def not Touche Eclait. Awful stuff.

ShirleyKnot · 19/07/2011 12:49

Touche Eclait also becomes a wand of stink.

Fuck Touche Eclait. Fuck it in the A

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 12:51

I will not fuck the Touche or the Eclat.

I am a layyyyydeeeeee.

Innit

CupcakesandTwunting · 19/07/2011 12:54

Wand of stink?

Is she alright?

AandK · 19/07/2011 12:56

This did make me chuckle.
Avon do a white cream eye shadow. I own one and you can't steal from them :)

Really you should have asked if you could buy it but they would have probably said no due liability if you caught an infection.

Really you didn't need to steal it you're an adult not a child and you need to learn to live without that particular eyeshadow.

ShirleyKnot · 19/07/2011 12:57

They stink. They literally smell of stink.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 19/07/2011 12:58

Grin @ lissielou

What are you supposed to do with Touche Eclat then?

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 12:59

Shirls my love, where exactly on your bod are you highlighting? Mine never smelt I don't think

CupcakesandTwunting · 19/07/2011 13:00

I have no idea, Boulevard. When the YSL woman tried to attack highlight my face with her tester, I ended up looking like I had some kind of pigment disorder. I told her I wouldn't be handing over £23 or however much it was to look like a toddler had done my face.

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 13:00

Touche Eclat is a highlighter, so think high on your cheekbones, bow of your lips, eyebrow arches...anywhere light naturally hits your face

TragicallyHip · 19/07/2011 13:02

Oh fuck me this is hilarious!

Op you seem a little too attached to this eye shadow. Get some concealer and please post a pic of you with a reverse Panda Grin

ShirleyKnot · 19/07/2011 13:02

They are actually a bit renowned for being stink wands.

I've got a similar thing from Chanel and it smells of love and rainbows.

CupcakesandTwunting · 19/07/2011 13:02

Eugh but it's so chalky. I use Benefit High Beam to do what Pin0t just said and I can see how that works because it does have some reflective quality to it. TE is just like fleshy-coloured spunk paste.

GreenEyesandHam · 19/07/2011 13:04

I'm with Shirley.

Touché Éclat does become a Wand Of Stink.

And I do cleanse my face, before anyone accuses me of mucky faced boggartry

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 13:06

I will go and sniff later and let y'all know

My By Terry one smells of angel wings

GreenEyesandHam · 19/07/2011 13:07

Love my touch-aaaaay there. Damn phone

ShirleyKnot · 19/07/2011 13:08

yy GreenEyes. I always applied it onto a CLEAN FACE and I also washed the bl;oody brush out and it still ponged. And it wasn't just one of them, I bought a few and they all smelled bad.

The lady in Boots said they get a lot of complaints.

FilthyDirtyHeathen · 19/07/2011 13:11

I did some work with YSL when touche eclat first launched. I got a load of freebies and my YSL client actually put the stuff on my face. She put it under my eyes so that its glorious shimmering light would detract from eye bags. It is not unreasonable therefore to apply it to the area around/beneath the eye - obv. not directly on the skin under your eye.

CupcakesandTwunting · 19/07/2011 13:15

I'd just like to save you all some money by letting you know that NOTHING works on eye bags/circles.

You're very welcome.

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 13:18

On S&B cyb linked to an amazing youtube clip explaining about the undereye triangle. You apply concealer under eye, down to your nostril and back up to the corner of you eye again, making a triangle. SO much more effective than just under eye dabbing.

I lust cyb on S&B. She is the Nigella of beauty tips. Fact.

And if all else fails, sunglasses.

RowanMumsnet · 19/07/2011 13:35

Hello there. Can I just remind you all of the Talk guidelines

Thanks,
