Called a woman an "evil bitch!"

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 13:40

Posted this in "other subjects" but didn't get a response in 4 minutes and I'm feeling impatient!

I was coming out of a car park earlier today and there was car in the lane next to mine. A woman was driving and a small child (2/3ish) was climbing about inside the car and not strapped in. I hate it when you see that as it's so stupid and irresponsible! A child around here died not that long ago in a similar situation. So anyway being a big mouth this happened . . . I honked my horn to get her attention and said -

me: strap your child in, that's dangerous and illegal
her: oh SHUT UP!
me: you EVIL BITCH! (top of my lungs! Blush)

Now I know some won't agree with the language but, well, I don't care about that. As far as I am concerned she is an evil bitch so why shouldn't I tell her I think so! One emergency stop and that child would either go though the windscreen or hit the dashboard (as the other child did) and break her neck Sad

Being called a bitch was getting off lightly when she came very closs to being beaten to death with my flip flop!!!

I would be grateful too, HerRoyal. Particularly if my attention was drawn to the matter in a reasonable way.

But given the speed with which the OP turned to hurling abuse, I somehow doubt the inital headsup was anything like reasonable.

reelingintheyears · 11/07/2011 16:47

A bit of common sense also means not screeching abuse at other drivers.
And thereby putting their passengers at furthur risk.

No one doubts that the child should have been strapped in correctly.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 11/07/2011 16:51

OP : I am not being unreasonable

MNers :er fraid YABU

OP: oh you horrid lot, I'm better than yeow

MNer: yeah, whatevs

OP: Ferrrrr-lounce

pointydog · 11/07/2011 16:58

Hullygully · 11/07/2011 17:02

It's a quiet day on MN isn't it?

reelingintheyears · 11/07/2011 17:04

Yep....someone should invite JamezHuff123456789 back for a laugh.

I'm bored.

lovecorrie · 11/07/2011 17:07

I don't know why I'm bothering but my 'apologetic face' was a smile and a mouthed 'I'm sorry'. A NORMAL driver would probably have looked a bit cross not shouted back abuse, and the nice old man next to him repeated the abuse. Not proud of losing it but I was really really annoyed. I am, contrary to the evidence Blush well brought up and hate ignorance. What else can I say. Please stop making me out to be horrible. I wish I hadn't said anything now Sad

StayingNearlyHeadlessNicksGirl · 11/07/2011 17:18

VelvetSnow - as the OP has pointed out several times now, the woman was IN a carpark, AT the exit barrier, just about to pull out onto a busy road where there is nowhere for her to pull over. She didn't have to look for somewhere to stop to strap her child in, because she was already in a good place to do this - a far better place than the busy main road she was just about to drive out onto!!

I am honestly surprised that anyone thinks the other driver was being anything other than negligent. She drove off onto a busy main road with her child unrestrained in the car!! Calling her an evil bitch was a big overreaction (as I have already said) but was her behaviour acceptable in any way? I don't think so.

She had the perfect opportunity to stop at the carpark barrier and re-strap her child into their seat AND SHE DIDN'T! Why would anyone defend her?

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 11/07/2011 17:43

"'why don't you fucking fuck off you fucking cunt! I hope you die you fucking fucker'"

"Please stop making me out to be horrible."

I REST MY CASE
[gavel]

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 18:21

HerRoyalNotness Ah common sense!

dickiedavisthunderthighs I never said that, that was another poster.

Because I swore! [big intake of breath!]

pointydog Why should I worry about offended a stranger who doesn't care about the life of her child? Not the sort of stranger anyone should be worried about hurting the feelings of. Strange priorities you have!

OP posts:
Hullygully · 11/07/2011 18:23

Oh for ffs, none of you can care this much, surely?

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 18:28

Hully I care (or rather am shocked) that so many people think not bothering to strap in your child means to others should tip toe around you and worry about sounding abrupt in case they hurt your feelings.

Squiggle
You are determined to misunderstand I think.

You are quite right to be concerned. Most people share your concern.
Where you and I part company is where you think that the means to protecting the child lies in swearing abuse at the driver.

I agree with your intention but the means you chose were childish and ineffectual.
You can keep dressing it up as posters being prissy but you are just adding silly to uncouth.

Hullygully · 11/07/2011 18:35

You should have offered her love. If you had said, oh dear, i don't think you realise that child has escaped from straps and is running loose, she might have been shamed into buckling child in. Shouting at her made her defensive and gave her an excuse to be cross with you instead od dealing with the matter.

Hence it was ineffective.

Pagwatch · 11/07/2011 18:37

Aw I feel bad now you agreed with me Hully..

Hullygully · 11/07/2011 18:37

Let's have a competition for how many different ways we can say the same thing

or not.

Hullygully · 11/07/2011 18:38

Cunt

Hullygully · 11/07/2011 18:38

That may have been a little ott.

You silly sausage!

Pagwatch · 11/07/2011 18:40

Hully your typing lacks temperance and restraint ,you big old knobber

Hullygully · 11/07/2011 18:41

Oh yes, it's that intemperance again.

That got me in a lot of trouble last time. That seems like a mad dream now, dunnit?
